Moses: the burning bush, the ten plagues, the crossing of the Red Sea, Sinai. Chapter 3 gives the divine name — I am who I am. Chapters 7–12 build the plagues one by one until the night every firstborn in Egypt dies and Pharaoh drives the Israelites out. Chapter 15 is the Song of Moses. Chapter 20 is the Ten Commandments spoken from a mountain wrapped in smoke. Chapter 32 is the golden calf — Moses smashes the tablets, grinds the calf to powder and makes the people drink it, then goes back up the mountain to plead for them. Chapter 34 is the renewal of the covenant and God proclaiming his name: the Lord, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. The final chapters are the detailed construction of the tabernacle, ending with the cloud covering it and the glory of the Lord filling it.
