Why
Most Australians have never read the Bible, and a fair few who've tried gave up somewhere in the thees and thous. This is the whole thing rewritten in the language we actually speak — written to be read, not studied.
How
Every passage is written scene by scene rather than verse by verse, so it reads as continuous storytelling. Verse numbers are there if you want them and easy to ignore if you don't. Comedy is used where the original is already funny, and nowhere near the parts that aren't.
What this isn't
It's a paraphrase, not a study translation. If you're doing serious work, use a proper one alongside it.
