The blood of the covenant

They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like paved sapphire stone, as clear as the sky itself. He didn't lay his hand on the nobles of the Israelites. And they saw God, and they ate and drank.

To the Israelites, the sight of the glory of the Lord was like consuming fire on the summit of the mountain. Moses entered the cloud and went up the mountain. He remained there forty days and forty nights.
And the Lord said to Moses: Come up to me into the mountain and stay there. And I'll give you tablets of stone, and the teaching and the orders I've written, so you can teach them. If any man has a matter to settle, let him come to them. And Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain. And Moses went into the middle of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was in the mountain forty days and forty nights.

And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
