The cattle die; the boils
Then the Lord told Moses, 'Go in to Pharaoh and tell him: This is what the Lord God of the Hebrews says — Let my people go, so they can serve me.' 'If you refuse to let them go and keep holding them back,' 'the hand of the Lord will fall on your livestock in the field — horses, donkeys, camels, cattle and sheep — with a terrible plague.' 'The Lord will make a distinction between Israel's livestock and Egypt's livestock. Nothing belonging to the Israelites will die.' The Lord set a time: Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land. The next day the Lord did exactly that. All the livestock of Egypt died, but not one of the Israelites' livestock died. Pharaoh sent, and there wasn't one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he didn't let the people go. The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: Take handfuls of ashes from the furnace, and let Moses toss them towards the sky in front of Pharaoh. It'll become fine dust in all the land of Egypt, and it'll be boils breaking out with sores on man and on animal through all the land of Egypt. They took ashes of the furnace and stood before Pharaoh. And Moses sprinkled it up towards the sky, and it became boils breaking out with sores on man and on animal. The magicians couldn't stand before Moses because of the boils. Because the boils were on the magicians and on all the Egyptians. The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he didn't listen to them, as the Lord had said to Moses.

Because now I'd have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with plague, and you'd have been cut off from the earth. 'But I have raised you up for this very reason: to show you my power, so my name may be declared throughout all the earth.' 'And you're still exalting yourself against my people and refusing to let them go.' 'about this time tomorrow I will send terrible hail, unlike anything Egypt has seen since it became a nation.' 'So send word now and bring your livestock and everything you have in the field under shelter. Every person or animal left outside when the hail comes down will die.' The one among the servants of Pharaoh who feared the word of the Lord made his servants and his cattle run into the houses. The one who didn't set his heart on the word of the Lord left his servants and his cattle in the field. The Lord said to Moses: Stretch out your hand towards the sky, so there'll be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and on animal and on every plant of the field through the land of Egypt. Moses stretched out his staff towards the sky. And the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along the ground. And the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt. So there was hail, and fire mixed with the hail, very heavy, that there'd been nothing like in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. The hail struck everything in the field through all the land of Egypt, both man and animal. And the hail struck every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were, there was no hail. Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron and said, 'I've sinned this time. The Lord is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.' 'Pray to the Lord. We've had enough of this mighty thunder and hail. I'll let you go; you don't need to stay any longer.' Moses said to him: As soon as I've gone out of the town, I'll spread out my hands to the Lord. And the thunder will stop, and there won't be any more hail — so you know the earth is the Lord's. But as for you and your servants, I know you won't fear the Lord God yet. The flax and the barley were struck, because the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud. But the wheat and the spelt weren't struck, because they come up late. Moses went out of the town from Pharaoh and spread out his hands to the Lord. And the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain wasn't poured on the earth. When Pharaoh saw the rain, hail and thunder had stopped, he sinned again and hardened his heart — he and his servants. Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not let the Israelites go, just as the Lord had spoken through Moses.

Because this time I'll send all my plagues on your heart and on your servants and on your people — so you know there's nobody like me in all the earth. Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now. Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die. He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses: And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field. So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail. And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer. And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD’s. But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God. And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled. But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up. And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth. And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.
