The scroll and the Lamb
And I saw in the right hand of the one seated on the throne a book, written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel calling out in a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book and loose its seals? And nobody in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the book or even look on it. And I wept a great deal, because nobody was found worthy to open and read the book, or even look on it. And one of the elders said to me, Don't weep. Look — the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book and loose its seven seals. And I looked, and there in the middle of the throne and the four beasts, and among the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been killed, with seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of the one seated on the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each of them with a harp and golden bowls full of odours, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the book and open its seals. Because you were killed, and by your blood you redeemed us to God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and made us kings and priests to our God. And we will reign on the earth. And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels round the throne and the beasts and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb who was killed, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing. And every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and everything in them, I heard saying: Blessing and honour and glory and power be to the one seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshipped him who lives forever and ever.

It had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of the one sitting on the throne. And when he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down in front of the Lamb. Each of them had a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God's people. And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were killed, and with your blood you bought people for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth. Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels round the throne and the living creatures and the elders — thousands upon thousands, ten thousand times ten thousand — saying in a great voice: Worthy is the Lamb who was killed to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing. And every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and everything in them, I heard saying: To the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honour and the glory and the power for ever and ever. And the four living creatures said, Amen. And the elders fell down and worshipped.

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
