The throne in heaven
After this I looked, and there was a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice I had heard, like a trumpet talking with me, said, Come up here and I will show you what must happen after this. And straight away I was in the Spirit. And there was a throne set in heaven, and one seated on the throne. And the one seated there looked like jasper and a sardine stone. And there was a rainbow round the throne, like an emerald to look at. And round the throne were twenty-four seats, and on the seats I saw twenty-four elders sitting, dressed in white, with crowns of gold on their heads. And out of the throne came lightning and thunder and voices. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And in front of the throne was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the middle of the throne and round it were four beasts, full of eyes in front and behind. The first beast was like a lion, the second beast like a calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts each had six wings, and they were full of eyes within. Day and night they never rest, saying: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. And whenever those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to the one seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before the one seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever, and throw their crowns down before the throne, saying: You are worthy, Lord, to receive glory and honour and power. Because you created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created.

The first creature was like a lion, the second like an ox, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. Each of the four had six wings, and they were covered with eyes all over and underneath. Day and night they never stop saying: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is coming. And whenever the living creatures give glory and honour and thanks to the one sitting on the throne, who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down in front of the one sitting on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever, and they throw their crowns down before the throne and say: You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honour and the power, because you made all things, and by your will they existed and were made.

And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
