The one who thinks about the poor

Blessed is the one who considers the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive; he will be blessed on the earth, and you will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will hold him up on his sickbed. You'll sustain him on his sickbed in his illness. I said: Lord, be gracious to me. Heal my soul, because I've sinned against you. My enemies speak evil of me: ‘When will he die, and his name perish?’ And if one of them comes to see me, he talks empty words. His heart gathers up trouble for itself, and when he goes outside he tells it. Everyone who hates me whispers together against me. Against me they think up harm for me. They say, 'An evil disease clings to him. Now that he's lying down, he'll rise no more.' Even my own familiar friend, whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me. But you, LORD, be merciful to me and raise me up, so I may repay them. By this I know you're pleased with me — because my enemy doesn't shout in triumph over me. And as for me, you sustain me in my integrity, and you set me before you forever. Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen.

Happy is the one who thinks about the poor. The Lord will get him out in the bad time. The Lord will keep him and keep him alive, and he'll be happy on the earth. And you won't hand him over to what his enemies want. The Lord will hold him up on his sickbed. You'll turn his whole bed round in his illness. I said: Lord, be gracious to me. Heal my soul, because I've sinned against you. My enemies talk evil about me: When will he die and his name be gone? And if one of them comes to see me, he talks empty words. His heart gathers up trouble for itself, and when he goes outside he tells it. Everyone who hates me whispers together against me. Against me they think up harm for me. They say: Something rotten has stuck fast to him. Now he's lying down, he won't get up again. Even my own mate that I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me. But you, Lord, be gracious to me and lift me up, so I can pay them back. By this I know you're pleased with me — because my enemy doesn't shout in triumph over me. And as for me, you hold me up in what's whole in me, and you set me in front of your face forever. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from forever and to forever. Amen and amen.

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish? And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it. All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more. Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
