The charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting will be the tent and the covering, and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting, The curtains of the court, and the screen for the door of the court that is by the tent and by the altar around, and its cords for all its service. And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites and the family of the Izeharites and the family of the Hebronites and the family of the Uzzielites. These are the families of the Kohathites. In the number of all the males, from a month old and up, there were eight thousand six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary. The families of the sons of Kohath will camp on the south side of the tent. The leader of the fathers' house of the families of the Kohathites will be Elizaphan son of Uzziel. And their charge will be the ark and the table and the lampstand and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary they serve with, and the screen, and all its service. Eleazar son of Aaron the priest will be chief over the leaders of the Levites, and have the oversight of those who keep the charge of the sanctuary. Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites. These are the families of Merari. The firstborn redeemed

And the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the cattle of the Israelites. Moses counted all the firstborn among the Israelites, as the Lord commanded him. All the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and up, of those counted of them, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three. The Lord spoke to Moses: Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the Israelites, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle. And the Levites will be mine. I am the Lord. And for those to be redeemed of the two hundred and seventy-three of the firstborn of the Israelites who are more than the Levites, You will take five shekels each, one by one. You will take them by the shekel of the sanctuary — the shekel is twenty gerahs. And you will give the money that the extra number of them is redeemed with to Aaron and to his sons. Moses took the redemption money from those who were more than those redeemed by the Levites. He took the money from the firstborn of the Israelites — a thousand three hundred and sixty-five shekels, by the shekel of the sanctuary. Moses gave the money of the those redeemed to Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

And you'll take the Levites for me — I'm the Lord — instead of all the firstborn among the people of Israel. You'll take them by the shekel of the holy place — the shekel is twenty gerahs. And you'll give the money that the extra number of them is redeemed with to Aaron and to his sons. He took the money from the firstborn of the people of Israel — a thousand three hundred and sixty-five shekels, by the shekel of the holy place. And Moses gave the money of the redeemed ones to Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the Lord, the way the Lord ordered Moses.

And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites; Thou shalt even take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them: (the shekel is twenty gerahs:) And thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons. And Moses took the redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites: Of the firstborn of the children of Israel took he the money; a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary: And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
