The red heifer
The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron: 'This is the rule of the law the Lord has commanded: Tell the Israelites to bring you a red heifer without spot or blemish, one that has never borne a yoke.' And you will give it to Eleazar the priest, and he will bring it outside the camp, and it will be killed before him. Eleazar the priest will take some of its blood with his finger and sprinkle some of its blood towards the front of the tent of meeting seven times. The heifer will be burnt in his eyes — its skin and its flesh and its blood, with its dung, he will burn. The priest will take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet, and throw them into the middle of the burning of the heifer. Then the priest will wash his clothes and wash his flesh in water, and after that come into the camp. And the priest will be unclean till evening. The one who burns it will wash his clothes in water and wash his flesh in water, and be unclean till evening. And a man who is clean will gather up the ashes of the heifer and lay them up outside the camp in a clean place. They will be kept for the community of the Israelites as water for cleansing. It is for sin. The one who gathers up the ashes of the heifer will wash his clothes and be unclean till evening. And it will be a permanent rule for the Israelites and for the stranger staying among them.
And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron: This is the rule of the teaching the Lord has ordered: Speak to the people of Israel to bring you a red heifer without fault, that's got no blemish in it and never had a yoke on it. And you'll give it to Eleazar the priest, and he'll bring it outside the camp, and it'll be killed in front of him. And Eleazar the priest will take some of its blood with his finger and sprinkle some of its blood towards the front of the tent of meeting seven times. And the heifer will be burnt in his sight — its skin and its flesh and its blood, with its dung, he'll burn. And the priest will take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet, and throw them into the middle of the burning of the heifer. Then the priest will wash his clothes and wash his flesh in water, and after that come into the camp. And the priest will be unclean till evening. And the one who burns it will wash his clothes in water and wash his flesh in water, and be unclean till evening. And a man who's clean will gather up the ashes of the heifer and lay them up outside the camp in a clean place. And they'll be kept for the gathering of the people of Israel as water for cleansing. It's for sin. And the one who gathers up the ashes of the heifer will wash his clothes and be unclean till evening. And it'll be a rule forever for the people of Israel and for the stranger staying among them.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke: And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face: And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times: And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn: And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer. Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even. And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even. And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin. And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.

The water for cleansing
The one who touches the dead body of any man will be unclean seven days. He will purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he will be clean. But if he doesn't purify himself on the third day, then on the seventh day he will not be clean. Whoever touches the dead body of any man who has died and doesn't purify himself makes the tent of the Lord filthy. And that person will be cut off from Israel. Because the water for cleansing was not sprinkled on him, he will be unclean. His impurity is still on him. This is the teaching when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent and everything in the tent will be unclean seven days. Every open vessel that doesn't have a covering tied on it is unclean. And whoever touches one killed with a sword in the open field, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, will be unclean seven days. And for an unclean person they will take some of the ashes of the burnt heifer for cleansing from sin, and running water will be put on it in a vessel. And a clean person will take hyssop and dip it in the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the vessels and on the people who were there, and on the one who touched a bone or one killed or one who died or a grave. The clean person will sprinkle it on the unclean one on the third day and on the seventh day. And on the seventh day he will purify himself, and wash his clothes and wash himself in water, and be clean at evening. 'But the man who is unclean and does not purify himself will be cut off from among the community, because he has defiled the sanctuary of the Lord. The water of separation has not been sprinkled on him; he is unclean.' And it will be a permanent rule for them, that the one who sprinkles the water for cleansing will wash his clothes. And the one who touches the water for cleansing will be unclean till evening. And whatever the unclean person touches will be unclean. And anyone who touches it will be unclean till evening.
The one who touches the dead body of any man will be unclean seven days. He'll clean himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he'll be clean. But if he doesn't clean himself on the third day, then on the seventh day he won't be clean. Whoever touches the dead body of any man who's died and doesn't clean himself makes the tent of the Lord filthy. And that soul will be cut off from Israel. But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
