The paralysed man
And he got into a boat and crossed over and came to his own town. And they brought him a paralysed man lying on a mat. And when Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralysed man, Son, take heart. Your sins are forgiven. And some of the scribes said to themselves, This man is blaspheming. And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, Why are you thinking evil in your hearts? Because which is easier — to say, Your sins are forgiven, or to say, Get up and walk? But so you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins — then he said to the paralysed man, Get up, pick up your mat and go home. And he got up and went home. But when the crowds saw it they were amazed, and glorified God, who had given such power to men.

But when Jesus heard it he said to them, It isn't the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: I will have mercy, and not sacrifice. Because I didn't come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

If they do, the skins burst and the wine runs out and the skins are ruined. But they put new wine into new skins, and both are kept.

And Jesus got up and followed him, and so did his disciples. And a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. Because she said to herself, If I can just touch his cloak, I will be made well. But Jesus turned round, and when he saw her he said, Daughter, take heart. Your faith has made you well. And the woman was made well from that hour. And when Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a noise, he said to them, Make way. The girl isn't dead but asleep. And they laughed him to scorn. But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up. And the news of it went out into all that land.

And the crowds were amazed, saying, Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel. But the Pharisees said, He drives out demons by the prince of demons. And Jesus went about all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the crowds he was moved with compassion for them, because they were worn out and scattered, like sheep with no shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. So pray to the Lord of the harvest, that he will send out labourers into his harvest.
