Marriage
And when Jesus had finished these sayings, he left Galilee and came into the region of Judaea beyond the Jordan. And great crowds followed him, and he healed them there. And he answered them, Haven't you read that the one who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this reason a man will leave father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will be one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. So what God has joined together, let no man separate. They said to him, Why then did Moses command a man to give a certificate of divorce and send her away? He said to them, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But from the beginning it wasn't so. And I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. His disciples said to him, If that is a man's situation with his wife, it is better not to marry. But he said to them, Not everyone can accept this saying, only those to whom it is given. Because there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb. And there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men. And there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who can accept it, accept it.

And there are some who've made themselves like that for the kingdom of heaven's sake. The one who's able to take it, let him take it.

The rich young man

But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments. He said to him, Which ones? Jesus said, You won't murder. You won't commit adultery. You won't steal. You won't bear false witness. Honour your father and your mother. And, You'll love your neighbour as yourself. The young man said to him, I have kept all these since I was young. What am I still lacking? Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come and follow me. But when the young man heard that, he went away grieving, because he had great possessions. Then Jesus said to his disciples, I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it they were utterly astonished and said, Who then can be saved? But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this is impossible. But with God everything is possible. Then Peter answered him, Look, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have? And Jesus said to them, I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of man sits on the throne of his glory, you who have followed me will sit on twelve thrones as well, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for my name's sake will receive a hundred times as much, and will inherit everlasting life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
