The withered hand
And he went into the synagogue again, and there was a man there with a withered hand. And they watched him, to see whether he would heal the man on the sabbath, so they could bring a charge against him. And he said to the man with the withered hand, Stand up in front. And he said to them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath, or to do evil? To save a life, or to kill? But they said nothing. And he looked round at them with anger, grieved at the hardness of their hearts, and said to the man, Stretch out your hand. And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. And the Pharisees went out and straight away took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, You are the Son of God. And he warned them sharply not to make him known.

And these are they: Simon, whom he named Peter; and James son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, whom he named Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder; and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. And they went into a house.

A house divided
And the crowd came together again, so that they couldn't even eat. And when his own family heard about it, they went out to take charge of him. Because they said, He is out of his mind. And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and he drives out demons by the prince of demons. And he called them to him and said to them in parables, How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom can't stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house can't stand. And if Satan rises up against himself and is divided, he can't stand. That is the end of him. Nobody can go into a strong man's house and take his goods unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house. I tell you the truth: all sins will be forgiven the people, and every blasphemy they speak. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness. He is guilty of an eternal sin. He said this because they were saying, He has an unclean spirit.

Then his brothers and his mother came, and standing outside they sent word in to him, calling him. And the crowd was sitting round him, and they said to him, Look, your mother and your brothers are outside asking for you. And he answered them, Who is my mother, or my brothers? And he looked round at those sitting about him and said, Here is my mother and here are my brothers. Because whoever does the will of God is my brother and my sister and mother.

Because whoever does the will of God is my brother and my sister and mother.
Because whoever does the will of God, that one is my brother and my sister and mother.
For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
