Looking at the skin

The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron: When a man has a swelling or a scab or a bright spot on the skin of his flesh, and it's like the sore of a skin disease on the skin of his flesh, then he will be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests. The priest will look at the sore on the skin of the flesh. And when the hair in the sore has turned white and the sore looks deeper than the skin of his flesh, it's a skin disease. And the priest will look at him and say he's unclean. But if the bright spot is white on the skin of his flesh and doesn't look deeper than the skin, and the hair on it hasn't turned white, then the priest will shut up the one with the sore seven days. The priest will look at him on the seventh day. And if the sore looks the same to him and the sore hasn't spread in the skin, then the priest will shut him up seven days more. The priest will look at him again on the seventh day. And if the sore is darker and hasn't spread in the skin, the priest will say he's clean. It's only a scab. And he will wash his clothes and be clean. But if the scab spreads a lot in the skin after he's been seen by the priest for his cleansing, he will be seen by the priest again. If the priest sees the scab has spread in the skin, then the priest will say he's unclean. It is a skin disease. When the sore of a skin disease is on a man, then he will be brought to the priest. The priest will look. And if the swelling is white in the skin and it's turned the hair white, and there's raw flesh in the swelling — It's an old skin disease in the skin of his flesh, and the priest will say he's unclean and won't shut him up, because he's unclean. If the disease breaks out all over the skin and the disease covers the whole skin of the one with the sore, from his head right to his foot, wherever the priest looks — Then the priest will look. And if the disease has covered his whole flesh, he will say the one with the sore is clean. It is all turned white. He's clean. But when raw flesh shows on him, he will be unclean. The priest will see the raw flesh and say he's unclean. Because the raw flesh is unclean. It is a skin disease. Or if the raw flesh turns again and is changed to white, he will come to the priest. The priest will look at him. And if the sore is turned white, then the priest will say the one with the sore is clean. He's clean. The flesh too, when there's a boil in the skin of it and it's healed, And in the place of the boil there's a white swelling or a bright spot, white and a bit reddish, and it's shown to the priest — If the priest sees it looks lower than the skin and the hair on it is turned white, then the priest will say he's unclean. It is the sore of a skin disease broken out of the boil. But if the priest looks at it and there's no white hair in it and it isn't lower than the skin but is darker, then the priest will shut him up seven days. If it spreads a lot in the skin, then the priest will say he's unclean. It is a sore. But if the bright spot stays where it is and doesn't spread, it's a burning boil. And the priest will say he's clean. Or if there's any flesh with a burn from fire in the skin, and the raw flesh that burns has a bright spot, white and a bit reddish or white — Then the priest will look at it. And if the hair in the bright spot is turned white and it looks deeper than the skin, it's a skin disease broken out of the burning. So the priest will say he's unclean. It is the sore of a skin disease. But if the priest looks at it and there's no white hair in the bright spot and it isn't lower than the other skin but is darker, then the priest will shut him up seven days. The priest will look at him on the seventh day. And if it's spread a lot in the skin, then the priest will say he's unclean. It is the sore of a skin disease. If the bright spot stays where it is and hasn't spread in the skin but is darker, it's a swelling from the burning. And the priest will say he's clean, because it's a scar from the burning.

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron: When a man has a swelling or a scab or a bright spot on the skin of his flesh, and it's like the sore of a skin disease on the skin of his flesh, then he'll be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests. And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying, When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests: And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean. And if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning.

Sores on the head, and clothes

If a man or a woman has a sore on the head or the beard, Then the priest will look at the sore. And if it looks deeper than the skin and there's thin yellow hair in it, then the priest will say he's unclean. It is a scaly thing, a disease of the head or the beard. If the priest looks at the sore of the scaly thing and it doesn't look deeper than the skin, and there's no black hair in it, then the priest will shut up the one with the sore of the scaly thing seven days. And on the seventh day the priest will look at the sore. And if the scaly thing hasn't spread and there's no yellow hair in it, and the scaly thing doesn't look deeper than the skin, Then he will be shaved, but he must not shave the scaly place. And the priest will shut up the one with the scaly thing seven days more. And on the seventh day the priest will look at the scaly thing. And if the scaly thing hasn't spread in the skin and it doesn't look deeper than the skin, then the priest will say he's clean. And he will wash his clothes and be clean. But if the scaly thing spreads a lot in the skin after his cleansing, Then the priest will look at him. And if the scaly thing has spread in the skin, the priest won't look for yellow hair. He's unclean. But if the scaly thing looks the same to him and black hair has grown up in it, the scaly thing is healed. He's clean. And the priest will say he's clean. If a man or a woman has bright spots in the skin of their flesh, white bright spots, Then the priest will look. And if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh are dull white, it's a rash growing in the skin. He's clean. The man whose hair has fallen off his head — he's bald. He's clean. The one whose hair has fallen from the front of his head — he's bald in front. He's clean. If there's a white reddish sore on the bald head or the bald forehead, it's a skin disease sprung up in his bald head or his bald forehead. Then the priest will look at it. And if the swelling of the sore is white reddish on his bald head or on his bald forehead, like a skin disease shows in the skin of the flesh — He's a man with a skin disease. He's unclean. The priest will say he's completely unclean. His sore is on his head. The one with the disease that the sore is on will have his clothes torn and his head uncovered, and he will put a covering on his upper lip and call out: Unclean, unclean. He will be unclean all the days the sore is on him. He's unclean. He will live on his own. His home will be outside the camp. If the clothing has the sore of a skin disease in it, whether a woollen garment or a linen garment, Whether in the warp or in the weft, of linen or of wool, whether in a skin or in anything made of skin — If the sore is greenish or reddish in the garment or in the skin, either in the warp or in the weft or in anything of skin, it's the sore of a skin disease and it will be shown to the priest. The priest will look at the sore and shut up the thing with the sore seven days. He will look at the sore on the seventh day. If the sore has spread in the garment, either in the warp or in the weft or in a skin or in any work made of skin, the sore is an eating disease. It is unclean. So he will burn the garment, whether warp or weft, in wool or in linen, or anything of skin the sore is in. For it is an eating disease. It'll be burnt in the fire. If the priest looks and the sore hasn't spread in the garment, either in the warp or in the weft or in anything of skin, Then the priest will command them to wash the thing the sore is in, and he will shut it up seven days more. The priest will look at the sore after it's washed. And if the sore hasn't changed its colour and the sore hasn't spread, it's unclean. You'll burn it in the fire. It's eaten inward, whether the bare place is inside or outside. If the priest looks and the sore is darker after it's washed, then he will tear it out of the garment or out of the skin or out of the warp or out of the weft. If it still shows in the garment, either in the warp or in the weft or in anything of skin, it's spreading. You'll burn what the sore is in with fire. The garment, either warp or weft, or whatever thing of skin it is that you wash, if the sore goes from them, then it will be washed a second time and be clean. This is the teaching about the sore of a skin disease in a woollen or linen garment, either in the warp or in the weft, or in anything of skin, to say it's clean or to say it's unclean.

If a man or a woman has a sore on the head or the beard, then the priest will look at the sore. And if it looks deeper than the skin and there's thin yellow hair in it, then the priest will say he's unclean. It's a scaly thing, a disease of the head or the beard. And if the priest looks at the sore of the scaly thing and it doesn't look deeper than the skin, and there's no black hair in it, then the priest will shut up the one with the sore of the scaly thing seven days. And on the seventh day the priest will look at the sore. And if the scaly thing hasn't spread and there's no yellow hair in it, and the scaly thing doesn't look deeper than the skin, then he'll be shaved, but he won't shave the scaly place. And the priest will shut up the one with the scaly thing seven days more. And on the seventh day the priest will look at the scaly thing. And if the scaly thing hasn't spread in the skin and it doesn't look deeper than the skin, then the priest will say he's clean. And he'll wash his clothes and be clean. He's clean. And the man whose hair has fallen off his head — he's bald. He's clean. And the one whose hair has fallen from the front of his head — he's bald in front. He's clean. And if there's a white reddish sore on the bald head or the bald forehead, it's a skin disease sprung up in his bald head or his bald forehead. Then the priest will look at it. And if the swelling of the sore is white reddish on his bald head or on his bald forehead, like a skin disease shows in the skin of the flesh — he's a man with a skin disease. He's unclean. The priest will say he's completely unclean. His sore is on his head. And the one with the disease that the sore is on will have his clothes torn and his head uncovered, and he'll put a covering on his upper lip and call out: Unclean, unclean. He'll be unclean all the days the sore is on him. He's unclean. He'll live on his own. His home will be outside the camp. And if the clothing has the sore of a skin disease in it, whether a woollen garment or a linen garment, whether in the warp or in the weft, of linen or of wool, whether in a skin or in anything made of skin — and if the sore is greenish or reddish in the garment or in the skin, either in the warp or in the weft or in anything of skin, it's the sore of a skin disease and it'll be shown to the priest. And the priest will look at the sore and shut up the thing with the sore seven days. And he'll look at the sore on the seventh day. If the sore has spread in the garment, either in the warp or in the weft or in a skin or in any work made of skin, the sore is an eating disease. It's unclean. So he'll burn the garment, whether warp or weft, in wool or in linen, or anything of skin the sore is in. Because it's an eating disease. It'll be burnt in the fire. And if the priest looks and the sore hasn't spread in the garment, either in the warp or in the weft or in anything of skin, then the priest will order them to wash the thing the sore is in, and he'll shut it up seven days more. And the priest will look at the sore after it's washed. And if the sore hasn't changed its colour and the sore hasn't spread, it's unclean. You'll burn it in the fire. It's eaten inward, whether the bare place is inside or outside. And if the priest looks and the sore is darker after it's washed, then he'll tear it out of the garment or out of the skin or out of the warp or out of the weft. And if it still shows in the garment, either in the warp or in the weft or in anything of skin, it's spreading. You'll burn what the sore is in with fire. And the garment, either warp or weft, or whatever thing of skin it is that you wash, if the sore goes from them, then it'll be washed a second time and be clean. This is the teaching about the sore of a skin disease in a woollen or linen garment, either in the warp or in the weft, or in anything of skin, to say it's clean or to say it's unclean.

If a man or woman have a plague upon the head or the beard; Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a dry scall, even a leprosy upon the head or beard. And if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, it be not in sight deeper than the skin, and that there is no black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague of the scall seven days: And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the plague: and, behold, if the scall spread not, and there be in it no yellow hair, and the scall be not in sight deeper than the skin; He shall be shaven, but the scall shall he not shave; and the priest shall shut up him that hath the scall seven days more: And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the scall: and, behold, if the scall be not spread in the skin, nor be in sight deeper than the skin; then the priest shall pronounce him clean: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean. But if the scall spread much in the skin after his cleansing; Then the priest shall look on him: and, behold, if the scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek for yellow hair; he is unclean. But if the scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the scall is healed, he is clean: and the priest shall pronounce him clean. If a man also or a woman have in the skin of their flesh bright spots, even white bright spots; Then the priest shall look: and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh be darkish white; it is a freckled spot that groweth in the skin; he is clean. And the man whose hair is fallen off his head, he is bald; yet is he clean. And he that hath his hair fallen off from the part of his head toward his face, he is forehead bald: yet is he clean. And if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald forehead. Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the sore be white reddish in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appeareth in the skin of the flesh; He is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his head. And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean. All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be. The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen garment, or a linen garment; Whether it be in the warp, or woof; of linen, or of woollen; whether in a skin, or in any thing made of skin; And if the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be shewed unto the priest: And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up it that hath the plague seven days: And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean. He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire. And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague be not spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; Then the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut it up seven days more: And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without. And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be somewhat dark after the washing of it; then he shall rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof: And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a spreading plague: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire. And the garment, either warp, or woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean. This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or woof, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.
