And the Gileadites took the fords of the Jordan ahead of the Ephraimites. And whenever an Ephraimite who had escaped said, Let me cross over, the men of Gilead said to him, Are you an Ephraimite? And if he said No, then they said to him, Say Shibboleth. And he said Sibboleth, because he couldn't get the sound right. Then they took him and killed him at the fords of the Jordan. And forty-two thousand Ephraimites fell at that time.

And Abdon son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried at Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the hill country of the Amalekites.
