The word to Zedekiah
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his whole army and all the kingdoms of the earth under his rule and all the peoples were fighting against Jerusalem and all its cities: This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says. Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah and tell him: This is what the LORD says. Look: I'm handing this city over to the king of Babylon, and he'll burn it with fire. The broken covenant on the slaves
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD after King Zedekiah had cut a covenant with all the people in Jerusalem to proclaim freedom to them — That every man should let his Hebrew male and female slaves go free, so nobody would make a servant of a Jew, his own brother. And all the officials and all the people who'd come into the covenant listened, and each let his male and female slaves go free and didn't make servants of them any more. They listened and let them go. But afterwards they turned round and brought back the male and female slaves they'd let go free, and forced them into being male and female slaves again. So the LORD spoke to Jeremiah from the LORD: This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says. I cut a covenant with your fathers on the day I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slaves: At the end of seven years let each of you send his Hebrew brother free, the one who was sold to you and has served you six years. Let him go free from you. But your fathers didn't listen to me and didn't turn their ear. And you turned round just now and did what's right in my eyes, each man proclaiming freedom to his neighbour. And you cut a covenant before me in the house that's called by my name. But you turned round and treated my name as common, and each of you brought back his male and female slaves, those you'd let go free to themselves. You forced them into being your male and female slaves again. So this is what the LORD says: You haven't listened to me to proclaim freedom, each man to his brother and each man to his neighbour. Look: I'm proclaiming freedom for you, declares the LORD: to the sword, to the plague and to the famine. And I'll hand you over to be a terror in all the kingdoms of the earth. And the men who've stepped over my covenant, who haven't kept the words of the covenant they cut before me when they cut the calf in two and passed between its parts — The officials of Judah and the officials of Jerusalem, the court officers and the priests and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf — I'll hand them over to their enemies and to those after their life. And their dead bodies will be food for the birds of heaven and the animals of the earth. And Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials I'll hand over to their enemies and to those after their life, and to the army of the king of Babylon that's pulled back off you. Look: I'll give the order, declares the LORD, and bring them back to this city. And they'll fight it and take it and burn it with fire. And I'll make the cities of Judah a desolation with nobody living in them.

But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof, The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf; I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth. And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which are gone up from you. Behold, I will command, saith the LORD, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.
