Send them out of my sight
Then the LORD said to me: Even if Moses and Samuel stood before me, my soul wouldn't be for this people. Send them out of my sight and let them go. If they ask you, “Where will we go?” tell them, “This is what the LORD says: Those for death, to death; those for the sword, to the sword; those for famine, to famine; and those for captivity, to captivity.” I'll set four kinds over them, declares the LORD: the sword to kill, the dogs to drag off, the birds of heaven and the animals of the earth to eat and destroy. I'll make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for what he did in Jerusalem. Who'll feel sorry for you, Jerusalem? Who'll be sad for you? Who'll turn aside to ask how you're going? You've walked out on me, declares the LORD. You've gone backwards. So I'll stretch out my hand against you and destroy you. I'm tired of relenting. I'll winnow them with a fork in the gates of the land. I'll take away their children. I'll destroy my people, because they wouldn't turn back from their ways. Their widows will be more than the sand of the seas to me. I'll bring on them, against the mother of the young men, a destroyer at noon. I'll make terror and panic fall on her suddenly. The one who gave birth to seven has fainted and given up her breath. Her sun went down while it was still day. She's ashamed and humiliated. And I'll hand the rest of them over to the sword before their enemies, declares the LORD.
Then the Lord said to me: Even if Moses and Samuel stood in front of me, my soul wouldn't be for this people. Send them out of my sight and let them go. And if they say to you, Where do we go? — tell them: This is what the Lord says. Whoever's for death, to death. Whoever's for the sword, to the sword. Whoever's for famine, to famine. Whoever's for captivity, to captivity. I'll set four kinds over them, declares the Lord: the sword to kill, the dogs to drag off, the birds of the sky and the animals of the earth to eat and wreck. So I'll stretch out my hand against you and wreck you. I'm tired of relenting. I'll winnow them with a fork in the gates of the land. I'll take away their children. I'll finish my people off, because they wouldn't turn back from their ways. Their widows will be more than the sand of the seas to me. I'll bring on them, against the mother of the young men, a wrecker at noon. I'll make terror and panic fall on her suddenly. The one who gave birth to seven has fainted and given up her breath. Her sun went down while it was still day. She's ashamed and humiliated. And I'll hand the rest of them over to the sword in front of their enemies, declares the Lord.
Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth. And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity. And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy. And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem. For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest? Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting. And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return not from their ways. Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city. She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.

Trouble is coming to me, my mother
Trouble is coming to me, my mother, that you gave birth to me — a man of quarrelling and a man of fighting to the whole land. I haven't lent at interest and nobody's lent to me, and every one of them curses me. The LORD said, “Surely it will be well with what is left of you. Surely I will cause the enemy to treat you well in the time of evil and in the time of suffering. Can iron break iron from the north, and bronze? Your wealth and your treasures I'll hand over as plunder, no price asked, for all your wrongdoing, right through your borders. And I'll make you go across with your enemies into a land you don't know. Because a fire is lit in my anger, and it'll burn on you. You know, LORD. Remember me and visit me; avenge me on my persecutors. In your patience, do not take me away. Know that for your sake I have suffered rebuke. Your words were found, and I ate them. Your word became the joy and rejoicing of my heart, because I am called by your name, LORD God Almighty. I didn't sit in the mob of those having a laugh or rejoice with them. I sat on my own because of your hand, because you'd filled me with anger. Why is my pain never over and my wound so bad it won't be healed? Are you going to be like a dry creek to me, like water you can't count on? So this is what the LORD says: If you come back, I'll bring you back and you'll stand before me. And if you bring out what's precious instead of what's cheap, you'll be like my mouth. Let them return to you, but you don't go back to them. And I'll make you a fortified bronze wall to this people. They'll fight you and they won't beat you, because I'm with you to save you and deliver you, declares the LORD. I'll get you out of the hand of the wicked, and I'll buy you back out of the grip of the ruthless.
Trouble is coming to me, my mother, that you gave birth to me — a man of quarrelling and a man of fighting to the whole land. I haven't lent at interest and nobody's lent to me, and every one of them curses me. The Lord said: You wait — it'll go well for what's left of you. You wait — I'll make the enemy come pleading to you in the time of trouble and the time of hardship. Remember me and take care of me and settle up for me with the ones chasing me. Don't take me away while you're being slow to anger. Know that I've carried insults for your sake. Your words were found and I ate them, and your word was joy to me and the gladness of my heart. Because I'm called by your name, Lord God Almighty. I didn't sit in the mob of the ones having a laugh or celebrate with them. I sat on my own because of your hand, because you'd filled me with anger. Why is my pain never over and my wound so bad it won't be healed? Are you going to be like a dry creek to me, like water you can't count on? Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me. The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction. Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel? Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders. And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you. O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation. Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail? Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them. And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD. And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.
