Wake up, Zion

Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Zion. Put on your beautiful garments, Jerusalem, holy city, because from now on the uncircumcised and the unclean will no longer come into you. Shake yourself from the dust. Rise and sit down, Jerusalem. Loose yourself from the bands around your neck, captive daughter of Zion. Because this is what the LORD says: You were sold for nothing, and you'll be redeemed without money. For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘My people went down into Egypt long ago to stay there, and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.’ ‘So what have I here now?’ says the LORD. ‘My people have been taken away for nothing. Their rulers make them howl, and my name is blasphemed all day long.’ So my people will know my name. They will know in that day that I am the one who speaks: it is I.

Wake up, wake up. Put on your strength, Zion. Put on your good clothes, Jerusalem, the holy city. Because the uncircumcised and the unclean won't come into you again. Shake yourself out of the dust. Get up and sit down, Jerusalem. Undo the ropes from your neck, captive daughter of Zion. Because this is what the Lord says: You were sold for nothing, and you'll be bought back without money. Because this is what the Lord God says: My people went down to Egypt at the start to live there, and Assyria oppressed them for nothing. And now what have I got here, declares the Lord, seeing my people are taken away for nothing? The ones ruling them make them howl, declares the Lord, and my name is blasphemed all day long. So my people will know my name. So on that day they'll know that I'm the one who says: Here I am.

Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean. Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion. For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money. For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause. Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed. Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

Feet on the mountains

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the one who brings good tidings, who publishes peace, brings good tidings of good, publishes salvation, and says to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’ Your watchmen will lift up their voice; together they'll sing, because they'll see eye to eye when the LORD brings Zion again. Break out into joy; sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem, because the LORD has comforted his people and redeemed Jerusalem. The LORD has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God. Depart, depart; go out from there. Touch no unclean thing. Go out from within her; be clean, you who carry the vessels of the LORD. Because you won't go out in a hurry or leave in flight. The LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the one bringing good news, telling out peace, bringing good news of good things, telling out salvation, saying to Zion: Your God reigns. Listen — your watchmen lift up their voice. They sing out together. Because they'll see it with their own eyes when the Lord brings Zion back. Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. My servant lifted up

my servant will act wisely. He'll be exalted and lifted up, and be very high. Just as many were astonished at you — his appearance was marred more than any man, and his form more than the people — so he will sprinkle many nations. Kings will shut their mouths because of him, because they'll see what had not been told them and consider what they had not heard.

Look — my servant will act wisely. He'll be lifted up and raised high and set very high. The way many were appalled at him — his face was disfigured beyond any man's, and his form beyond that of the sons of men — so he'll sprinkle many nations. Kings will shut their mouths because of him. Because what they were never told, they'll see. What they never heard, they'll understand.

Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
