The rock you were cut from
Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek the LORD. Look to the rock you were cut from, and to the hole of the pit you were dug from. Look at Abraham your father and Sarah who gave birth to you. Because he was only one when I called him, and I blessed him and made him many. Because the LORD will comfort Zion. He'll comfort all her wasted places and make her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanks and the sound of singing. Pay attention to me, my people. Listen to me, my nation. Because the teaching will go out from me, and I'll set my justice as a light for the peoples. My righteousness is close. My salvation has gone out. My arms will judge the peoples. The islands will wait for me and put their hope in my arm. Look up to the heavens and look at the earth beneath. The heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like clothing, and those who live there will die in the same way. But my salvation will last forever, and my righteousness will never fail. Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people with my teaching in their heart. Don't be afraid of the insults of men, and don't let their abuse frighten you. Because the moth will eat them like a coat, and the worm will eat them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever, and my salvation for all generations.
Listen to me, you who chase righteousness, you who look for the Lord. Look at the rock you were cut from and the hollow of the quarry you were dug out of. Because the heavens will vanish like smoke and the earth will wear out like a coat, and the people living on it will die the same way. But my salvation will last forever, and my righteousness won't be broken.
Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody. Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people. My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust. Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.

Wake up, arm of the Lord
Wake up, wake up, arm of the LORD, and put on your strength! Wake up like you did in ancient times, generations ago. Weren't you the one who cut Rahab to pieces and wounded the sea monster? Wasn't it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, and made the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to cross over? So the redeemed of the LORD will return and come with singing to Zion. Everlasting joy will be on their heads. They'll obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and mourning will flee away. ‘I, even I, am the one who comforts you. Who are you, that you should be afraid of a man who will die, or the son of man who will be made like grass?’ And you forget the LORD who made you, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth? And you go on being afraid every day, all day, of the fury of the oppressor when he sets himself to destroy. And where is the fury of the oppressor? The one bent over in chains will be let go quickly. He won't die in the pit and his bread won't run out. Because I'm the LORD your God, who stirs up the sea so its waves roar. The LORD Almighty is his name. I've put my words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand, to set the heavens in place and lay the foundations of the earth and say to Zion: You're my people.
Wake up, wake up, put on strength, arm of the Lord. Wake up like in the days of old, in the generations long ago. Wasn't it you who cut Rahab in pieces and ran the dragon through? Wasn't it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, and made the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to cross over? So the ransomed of the Lord will come back and come into Zion singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They'll get gladness and joy, and grief and groaning will run away. I, I am the one who comforts you. Who are you, that you're afraid of a man who'll die, of a son of man who'll be made grass — and you forget the Lord who made you, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth? And you go on being afraid every day, all day, of the fury of the oppressor when he sets himself to destroy. And where is the fury of the oppressor? The one bent over in chains will be let go quickly. He won't die in the pit and his bread won't run out. Because I'm the Lord your God, who stirs up the sea so its waves roar. The Lord Almighty is his name. I've put my words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand, to set the heavens in place and lay the foundations of the earth and say to Zion: You're my people.
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon? Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over? Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail. But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name. And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.
Wake up, wake up, arm of the LORD, and put on your strength! Wake up like you did in ancient times, generations ago. Weren't you the one who cut Rahab to pieces and wounded the sea monster?

Because I'm the LORD your God, who stirs up the sea so its waves roar. The LORD Almighty is his name.

But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name.

Stand up, Jerusalem
Wake up, wake up. Stand up, Jerusalem — you who've drunk from the LORD's hand the cup of his fury. You've drunk the goblet that makes people stagger, and drained it right out. There's nobody to guide her out of all the sons she gave birth to, and nobody to take her by the hand out of all the sons she brought up. These two things have come to you; who will be sorry for you? Desolation and destruction, famine and sword — by whom should I comfort you? Your sons have fainted. They're lying at the head of every street like an antelope in a net, full of the fury of the LORD and the rebuke of your God. So listen to this, you afflicted one, drunk but not on wine. This is what your Master says, the LORD and your God, who takes up his people's case: Look: I've taken the staggering cup out of your hand, the goblet of my fury. You won't drink it again. I'll put it in the hand of those who tormented you, who said to you, Lie down so we can walk over you — and you made your back like the ground and like a street for them to walk on.

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out. There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up.
