The covenant of circumcision
And when Abram was ninety-nine, the Lord appeared to him and said: I am God Almighty. Walk in front of me and be whole. And I'll make my covenant between me and you, and multiply you greatly. And Abram went down on his face, and God talked with him: As for me — look, my covenant is with you, and you'll be the father of many nations. And your name won't be Abram any more. Your name will be Abraham, because I've made you father of many nations. And I'll make you fruitful beyond measure. I'll make nations of you, and kings will come out of you. And I'll set up my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you, down the generations, an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you, and to your offspring after you, the land where you are a stranger — all the land of Canaan — for an everlasting possession. And I will be their God. And God said to Abraham: You'll keep my covenant, then — you and your offspring after you, down the generations. This is my covenant, which you'll keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: every male among you will be circumcised. And you'll circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and it'll be the sign of the covenant between me and you. And every male among you at eight days old will be circumcised, down the generations — born in the house, or bought with money off a stranger who isn't of your offspring. The one born in your house and the one bought with your money must both be circumcised. And my covenant will be in your flesh, an everlasting covenant. And the male who isn't circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin will be cut off from his people. He's broken my covenant.

And I'll give to you and to your offspring after you the land you're a stranger in, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession. And I'll be their God. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. Sarah will have a son
And God said to Abraham: As for Sarai your wife — you won't call her Sarai. Sarah is her name. And I'll bless her, and give you a son by her. I'll bless her, and she'll be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her. Then Abraham fell face down and laughed, and said in his heart: Will a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? And will Sarah, at ninety, bear a child? And Abraham said to God: I'd settle for Ishmael living in front of you. And God said: No — Sarah your wife will have you a son, and you'll call him Isaac. And I'll set up my covenant with him for good, and with his offspring after him. And as for Ishmael, I've heard you. Look — I've blessed him, and I'll make him fruitful and multiply him greatly. He'll father twelve princes, and I'll make him a great nation. But my covenant I'll set up with Isaac, the one Sarah will have you this time next year. And when he'd finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham. And that same day Abraham took Ishmael his son, and everyone born in his house and everyone bought with his money — every male in Abraham's household — and circumcised them, just as God had told him. And Abraham was ninety-nine when he was circumcised. And Ishmael his son was thirteen when he was circumcised. That very day Abraham and Ishmael his son were circumcised. And every man of his house, born in the house or bought with money off a stranger, was circumcised along with him.
And God said to Abraham: As for Sarai your wife, you won't call her name Sarai, but Sarah will be her name. And I'll bless her and give you a son by her too. Yes, I'll bless her, and she'll be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her. Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart: Will a child be born to a man who's a hundred years old? And will Sarah, who's ninety years old, have a child? And Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. On that same day Abraham was circumcised, and Ishmael his son. And all the men of his house, born in the house and bought with money from a stranger, were circumcised with him.

But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham. And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him. And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son. And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
