Against Mount Seir
And the LORD spoke to me: Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it. And say: This is what the Lord GOD says. Look: I'm against you, Mount Seir. And I'll stretch out my hand over you and make you a complete waste and destroy. I'll lay your cities in ruins, and you'll be a desolation. And you'll know that I'm the LORD. Because you've had an everlasting hate and handed the people of Israel over to the sword in the time of their trouble, in the time when wrongdoing came to its end — So as surely as I live, says the Lord GOD, I'll get you ready for blood, and blood will chase you. Since you haven't hated blood, blood will chase you. So I'll make Mount Seir a complete waste and destroy, and I'll cut off from it anyone going out and coming back. I'll fill its mountains with bodies. Your hills, valleys and streams will be full of people killed by the sword. I'll make you a desolation forever, and your cities won't come back. And you'll know that I'm the LORD. Because you've said, These two nations and these two countries will be mine and we'll own them — though the LORD was there — So as surely as I live, says the Lord GOD, I'll deal with you according to your anger and according to the jealousy you used out of your hate for them. And I'll make myself known among them when I judge you. And you'll know that I'm the LORD, and that I've heard all the insults you've spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying: They're a desolation, they're given to us to eat. So you've talked big against me with your mouth and piled up your words against me. I've heard it. This is what the Lord GOD says: When the whole earth rejoices, I'll make you a desolation. The way you rejoiced over the inheritance of the people of Israel because it was a desolation, that's what I'll do to you. You'll be a desolation, Mount Seir, and the whole of Edom, all of it. And they'll know that I'm the LORD.

Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth. And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there: Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee. And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume. Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them. Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate. As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
