The leader of Tyre
And the LORD spoke to me: Son of man, say to the prince of Tyrus: This is what the Lord GOD says. Because your heart is lifted up and you've said, I'm a god, I sit in the seat of God in the middle of the seas — and you're a man and not a god, though you set your heart like the heart of a god — Look, you're wiser than Daniel. There's no secret they can hide from you. With your wisdom and your understanding you have yourself riches, and you have gold and silver into your treasuries. By your great wisdom and your trading you've made your riches bigger, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches. So this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you've set your heart like the heart of a god, Look, I'll bring strangers on you, the most brutal of the nations. And they'll pull out their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and make your splendour common. They'll bring you down to the pit, and you'll die like others killed out at sea. Will you still say, I'm a god, before the one who kills you? You'll be a man and not a god in the hand of the one who runs you through. You'll die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers, because I've spoken it, says the Lord GOD.

You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering — sardius, topaz and diamond, beryl, onyx and jasper, sapphire, emerald and carbuncle, and gold. The workmanship of your tambourines and pipes was made for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed cherub who covers, and I set you there. You were on the holy mountain of God. You walked up and down among the stones of fire. You were whole in your ways from the day you were created, till wrongdoing was found in you. With all your trading they filled you with violence, and you sinned. So I threw you out as common from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, you covering cherub, from among the stones of fire. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You destroyed your wisdom because of your splendour. I've thrown you to the ground. I've laid you before kings, so they can look at you. You've made your sanctuaries common by the size of your wrongdoing, by the crookedness of your trading. So I've brought a fire out of you, and it's eaten you. And I've turned you to ashes on the ground before everyone looking at you. Everyone who knows you among the peoples will be shocked at you. You'll be a horror, and you'll never be there again.

They will know that I am the LORD when I execute judgments in her and show my holiness in her. Because I'll send plague into her and blood into her streets. And the wounded will fall within her by the sword on her from every side. And they'll know that I'm the LORD. And there won't be a pricking briar or a hurting thorn left for the people of Israel out of any of those round them who treat them with contempt. And they'll know that I'm the Lord GOD. This is what the Lord GOD says: “When I have gathered the people of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and shown my holiness through them before the nations, then they will live in their own land that I gave to my servant Jacob. And they'll live safely in it and build houses and plant vineyards. Yes, they'll live safely when I've done judgments on everyone round them who treats them with contempt. And they'll know that I'm the LORD their God.

Because I'll send plague into her and blood into her streets. And the wounded will fall in the middle of her by the sword on her from every side. And they'll know that I'm the Lord. And there won't be a pricking briar or a hurting thorn left for the house of Israel out of any of the ones round them who treat them with contempt. And they'll know that I'm the Lord God.
