And she became a byword among women, when they'd done judgments on her. And her sister Aholibah saw it, and she was worse than her sister in her lusting, and in her whoring she was worse than her sister's whoring. Because when she saw men drawn on the wall, images of the Chaldeans drawn in red, With belts round their waists and flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like officers, like the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land where they were born — As soon as she saw them with her eyes she lusted after them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea. The Babylonians came to her bed and defiled her through their sexual immorality. She was polluted by them, and then she became disgusted with them. So she openly displayed her sexual immorality and her nakedness. Then I became disgusted with her, just as I had become disgusted with her sister. But she made her whoring worse, remembering the days of her youth when she'd gone whoring in the land of Egypt. Because she lusted after their keepers, whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys. So you brought back to mind the wickedness of your youth, when the Egyptians pressed your breasts because of your young breasts.

Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way, And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion, Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity: And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea. And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them. For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses. Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.

So Aholibah, this is what the Lord GOD says: “Look, I will stir up your lovers against you, those from whom your mind is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side — the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them — all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding on horses. And they'll come against you with weapons and chariots and wagons and a crowd of peoples. They'll set themselves against you all round with shield and small shield and helmet. And I'll set the judgment before them, and they'll judge you by their own judgments. And I'll set my jealousy against you, and they'll deal with you in fury. They'll take off your nose and your ears, and what's left of you will fall by the sword. They'll take your sons and your daughters, and the rest of you will be eaten by the fire. They'll strip your clothes off you too and take your beautiful jewellery. So I'll make your wickedness stop, and your whoring brought from the land of Egypt — so you don't lift your eyes to them or remember Egypt any more. For this is what the Lord GOD says: “Look, I will deliver you into the hand of those you hate, into the hand of those from whom your mind is alienated. And they'll deal with you in hate and take everything you've worked for and leave you naked and bare. And the nakedness of your whoring will be uncovered, both your wickedness and your whoring. I'll do this to you because you've gone whoring after the nations, because you're filthy with their idols. You've walked in your sister's way, so I'll put her cup in your hand. This is what the Lord GOD says: “You will drink your sister’s cup, deep and large. You will be laughed to scorn and held in derision; it contains much. You'll be filled up with drunkenness and grief, with the cup of shock and a desolation, the cup of your sister Samaria. And you'll drink it and drain it out, and break the bits of it, and tear off your own breasts. Because I've spoken it, says the Lord GOD. So this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you've forgotten me and thrown me behind your back, you carry your wickedness and your whoring too.

And I'll set the judgment in front of them, and they'll judge you by their own judgments. And I'll set my jealousy against you, and they'll deal with you in fury. They'll take off your nose and your ears, and what's left of you will fall by the sword. They'll take your sons and your daughters, and what's left of you will be eaten by the fire. They'll strip your clothes off you too and take your beautiful jewellery. And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire. They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels. Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more. For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated: And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms. I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols. Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister’s cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much. And the LORD said to me: Son of man, will you judge Aholah and Aholibah? Then tell them their disgusting things — That they've broken marriage and there's blood on their hands. They've broken marriage with their idols, and they've made their sons that they bore to me go through the fire for them, to be eaten. They've done this to me as well: they've made my sanctuary filthy on the same day and made my sabbaths common. Because when they'd killed their children for their idols, they came into my sanctuary the same day to make it common. And look: that's what they did in the middle of my house. And more than that, you sent for men to come from a long way off, and messengers were sent to them. And look: they came. And for them you washed yourself and painted your eyes and put on your jewellery, And sat on a fine bed with a table set before it, and you put my incense and my oil on it. The sound of a multitude at ease was with her, and with the men of the common sort came Sabeans from the wilderness. They put bracelets on their hands and beautiful crowns on their heads. Then I said about the one worn out with marriage-breaking: Will they still go whoring with her, and she with them? But they slept with her the way men sleep with a prostitute. That's how they slept with Aholah and Aholibah, the filthy women. And righteous men will judge them the way women who break marriage and shed blood are judged, because they're women who break marriage and there's blood on their hands. For this is what the Lord GOD says: “I will bring a company against them and give them over to be removed and spoiled. And the crowd will stone them with stones and cut them down with their swords. They'll kill their sons and their daughters and burn their houses with fire. That's how I'll make wickedness stop in the land, so all women take the warning and don't do the way you've done. And they'll pay you back for your wickedness, and you'll carry the sins of your idols. And you'll know that I'm the Lord GOD.

Then I said about the one worn out with marriage-breaking: Will they still go whoring with her, and she with them? But they went in to her the way men go in to a prostitute. That's how they went in to Oholah and Oholibah, the filthy women. And righteous men will judge them the way women who break marriage and shed blood are judged, because they're women who break marriage and there's blood on their hands. Because this is what the Lord God says: I'll bring a crowd up against them and hand them over to be knocked about and looted. And the crowd will stone them with stones and cut them down with their swords. They'll kill their sons and their daughters and burn their houses with fire. That's how I'll make wickedness stop in the land, so all women take the warning and don't do the way you've done. And they'll pay you back for your wickedness, and you'll carry the sins of your idols. And you'll know that I'm the Lord God.

And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads. Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them? Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women. And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands. For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
