Coals of fire over the town
Then I looked, and above the heads of the cherubim was something like a sapphire stone, shaped like a throne. And he spoke to the man dressed in linen and said: Go in between the wheels, under the cherub, and fill your hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim and scatter them over the city. And as for what they looked like, the four of them were all alike, like a wheel inside a wheel. When they went, they went on their four sides. They didn't turn when they went, but wherever the head was facing, they followed it. They didn't turn when they went. And their whole body and their backs and their hands and their wings and the wheels were full of eyes all round — the four of them had wheels. As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing: the whirling wheels. And each one had four faces. The first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. And the cherubim went up. This is the living creature I saw by the river Chebar. And when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them. And when the cherubim lifted their wings to go up off the ground, the wheels didn't turn from beside them either. When they stood still, these stood still. And when they went up, these went up with them, because the spirit of the living creature was in them. Then the glory of the LORD moved away from the threshold of the house and stood over the cherubim. And the cherubim lifted their wings and went up off the ground before my eyes. When they went out, the wheels were beside them. And they stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD's house, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
