Peter and John arrested

This is the stone thrown off by you builders, which has turned into the head of the corner. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." When they saw Peter and John's boldness and realised they were uneducated, ordinary men, they marvelled. And they recognised that these men had been with Jesus. And looking at the man who was healed standing with them, they couldn't say anything against it. When they'd commanded them to go aside out of the council, they talked among themselves, And said: What'll we do to these men? Because truly a notable miracle has been done by them, plain to everyone living in Jerusalem. And we can't deny it. But so it spreads no further among the people, let's threaten them hard, that they speak to no man from now on in this name. They called them and commanded them not to speak at all or teach in the name of Jesus. Peter and John answered, "Whether it's right in God's sight to listen to you rather than God, you judge. But we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard." So when they'd threatened them more, they let them go, finding nothing they could punish them for, because of the people. Because all men gave glory to God for what was done. For the man was over forty years old that this miracle of healing was done on.

And now, Lord, look at their threats and grant your servants boldness to speak your word, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of your holy child Jesus."
