Live to please God
Furthermore then, brothers, we ask you and urge you by the Lord Jesus: you received from us how you ought to live and please God, so keep at it more and more. You know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. This is God's will: that you be made holy, and that you keep clear of sexual immorality; that every one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in holiness and honour, not in the heat of lust like the Gentiles who don't know God; and that no one goes beyond and cheats his brother in any matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we told you before and warned you. God didn't call us to be unclean, but to be holy. So anyone who brushes this aside isn't brushing aside a man, but God, who has also given us his Holy Spirit. About brotherly love, there is no need for anyone to write to you, because you have been taught by God yourselves to love one another. And that is what you are doing towards all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, keep at it, more and more. Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, mind your own business, and work with your hands, as we told you, so that you may walk honestly toward outsiders and have lack of nothing.
What's more then, brothers, we beg you and push you by the Lord Jesus, that as you've taken of us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you'd be more and more plentiful in it. Because you know what orders we gave you by the Lord Jesus. Because this is the will of God, your being made holy — that you keep from sexual sin. That every one of you should know how to have his own vessel in holiness and honour. Not in the passion of wanting, the way the nations do who don't know God. That no man go beyond and cheat his brother in any matter. Because the Lord pays back for all these things, the way we've told you before too and testified. Because God hasn't called us to uncleanness but to holiness. So the one who looks down on this doesn't look down on man but God, who's given us his Holy Spirit too. But about brotherly love you don't need me to write to you. Because you're taught by God yourselves to love each other. And truly you do it towards all the brothers in all Macedonia. But we beg you, brothers, that you'd grow more and more. And that you make it your aim to be quiet and to do your own business and to work with your own hands, the way we ordered you. So you can walk properly towards the ones outside and so you have need of nothing.
Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
Furthermore then, brothers, we ask you and urge you by the Lord Jesus: you received from us how you ought to live and please God, so keep at it more and more.

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
You know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
Because you know what orders we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
This is God's will: that you be made holy, and that you keep clear of sexual immorality;
Because this is the will of God, your being made holy — that you keep from sexual sin.
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
that every one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in holiness and honour,
That every one of you should know how to have his own vessel in holiness and honour.
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
not in the heat of lust like the Gentiles who don't know God;
Not in the passion of wanting, the way the nations do who don't know God.
Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
and that no one goes beyond and cheats his brother in any matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we told you before and warned you.
That no man go beyond and cheat his brother in any matter. Because the Lord pays back for all these things, the way we've told you before too and testified.
That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
God didn't call us to be unclean, but to be holy.
Because God hasn't called us to uncleanness but to holiness.
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
So anyone who brushes this aside isn't brushing aside a man, but God, who has also given us his Holy Spirit.
So the one who looks down on this doesn't look down on man but God, who's given us his Holy Spirit too.
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

But about brotherly love you don't need me to write to you. Because you're taught by God yourselves to love each other.

The Lord's coming
But I don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you do not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, then in the same way God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. This we tell you by the word of the Lord: we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not go before those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. So comfort one another with these words.
But I don't want you to be without knowing, brothers, about the ones who are asleep, so you don't sorrow the way others do who have no hope. Because if we believe Jesus died and rose again, that's how God will bring with him too the ones who sleep in Jesus. Because we say this to you by the word of the Lord — that we who are alive and stay to the coming of the Lord won't go before the ones who are asleep. Because the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and stay will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we'll always be with the Lord. So comfort each other with these words.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
But I don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you do not grieve like the rest, who have no hope.
But I don't want you to be without knowing, brothers, about the ones who are asleep, so you don't sorrow the way others do who have no hope.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
This we tell you by the word of the Lord: we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not go before those who have fallen asleep.
Because we say this to you by the word of the Lord — that we who are alive and stay to the coming of the Lord won't go before the ones who are asleep.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
So comfort one another with these words.
So comfort each other with these words.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
