Timothy sent
So when we couldn't stand it any longer, we thought it best to be left on our own at Athens, and we sent Timotheus, our brother and minister of God and our fellow worker in the gospel of Christ, to steady you and encourage you in your faith, so that nobody would be shaken by these troubles. You know yourselves that this is what we are in for. In fact when we were with you we told you beforehand that we were going to have trouble, and that is how it turned out, as you know. So when I couldn't stand it any longer, I sent to find out about your faith, in case the tempter had got at you somehow and our work had come to nothing. But Timotheus has just come back to us from you with good news about your faith and love, and he says you always think well of us and want to see us as much as we want to see you. So brothers, in all our own distress and trouble, we were encouraged about you by your faith. Because now we are really living, if you stand firm in the Lord. How can we thank God enough for you, for all the joy we have on your account in the presence of our God? Night and day we are praying our hardest to see you face to face and make up whatever is still short in your faith. Now may God our Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, clear the way for us to come to you. And may the Lord make your love grow and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you, so he can establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God our Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
So when we couldn't hold back any longer, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone. And sent Timothy, our brother and servant of God and our fellow worker in the good news of Christ, to make you firm and to comfort you about your faith. So no man should be shaken by these troubles. Because you know yourselves that we're set for this. Because truly, when we were with you, we told you before that we'd suffer trouble, the way it came about too and you know. For this reason, when I couldn't hold back any longer, I sent to know your faith, in case by some means the tester had tested you and our labour turned out for nothing. But now when Timothy came from you to us and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you have good remembering of us always, longing badly to see us, the way we do to see you too — for this reason, brothers, we were comforted about you in all our hardship and trouble by your faith. Because now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord. Because what thanks can we give back to God again for you, for all the joy we celebrate for your sakes with in front of our God? Night and day praying very strongly that we could see your face and could make up what's lacking in your faith. Now God himself and our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ guide our way to you. And the Lord make you grow and be plentiful in love to each other and to all men, the way we do towards you. To make your hearts firm, blameless in holiness in front of God and our Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his holy ones.
Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know. For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain. But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you: Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God; Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
Because now we are really living, if you stand firm in the Lord.
Because now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord.
For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
How can we thank God enough for you, for all the joy we have on your account in the presence of our God?
Because what thanks can we give back to God again for you, for all the joy we celebrate for your sakes with in front of our God?
For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

so he can establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God our Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
To make your hearts firm, blameless in holiness in front of God and our Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his holy ones.
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
