A living sacrifice
So I beg you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is your reasonable act of worship. And don't be shaped by this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so you can prove what the will of God is — what is good and pleasing and perfect. Because by the grace given to me I say to every one of you: don't think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think soberly, according to the measure of faith God has given each man. For just as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts don't have the same job, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and each one of us belongs to all the others. And we have different gifts, according to the grace given to us. If it is prophecy, let him prophesy in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve. If it is teaching, let him teach. If it is encouraging, let him encourage. If it is giving, let him do it openhandedly. If it is leading, let him do it diligently. If it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Love without pretending
Let love be without pretence. Hate what is evil. Hold tight to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Put one another first in honour. Don't go slack in your work. Keep your spirit fervent. Serve the Lord. Be glad in hope. Be patient in trouble. Keep at your prayers. Share with the saints in their needs. Be given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you. Bless, and don't curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Don't set your mind on high things, but go along with people of low position. Don't get wise in your own eyes. Don't pay anyone back evil for evil. Take thought for what is honourable in everyone's sight. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Dearly loved friends, don't take revenge yourselves. Leave room for God's anger. Because it is written: Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord. So if your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. Because by doing that you will heap coals of fire on his head. Don't be overcome by evil. Overcome evil with good.

Serving the Lord. Celebrating in hope. Patient in trouble. Going on steadily in prayer. Sharing to the needs of the holy ones. Given to taking strangers in. Bless the ones who chase you. Bless and don't curse. Celebrate with the ones who celebrate, and weep with the ones who weep. Be of the same mind towards each other. Don't set your mind on high things, but go along with the ones of low degree. Don't be wise in your own thinking. Don't pay back to any man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it's possible, as much as it's in you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, don't pay back for yourselves, but rather give place to anger. Because it's written: Paying back is mine, I'll pay back, says the Lord. So if the one against you is hungry, feed him. If he's thirsty, give him drink. Because in doing that you'll heap coals of fire on his head. Don't be won by evil, but win against evil with good.
