The river and the tree of life
And he showed me a pure river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of the street of the city, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit and giving its fruit every month. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are those who do his commandments, so they have the right to the tree of life and can go in through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral people and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and makes a lie. I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let the one who hears say, Come. And let the one who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely. I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if any man adds to them, God will add to him the plagues written in this book. And if any man takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things written in this book. The one who testifies these things says, Surely I am coming quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
