The second Passover
The Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they came out of the land of Egypt: Let the Israelites keep the Passover at its appointed time. On the fourteenth day of this month at evening you will keep it at its appointed time. You will keep it according to all its rules and according to all its ways. Moses spoke to the Israelites, so they'd keep the Passover. They kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at evening in the wilderness of Sinai. According to everything the Lord commanded Moses, that is what the Israelites did. And there were some men who were unclean because of the dead body of a man, so they couldn't keep the Passover that day. They came before Moses and before Aaron that day. And those men said to him: We are unclean because of the dead body of a man. Why should we be kept from offer an offering to the Lord at its appointed time among the Israelites? Moses said to them: Stand still, and I will hear what the Lord will order about you. You will have one rule, both for the stranger and for the one born in the land.

The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it. But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin. And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.

And on the day the tent was set up, the cloud covered the tent, the tent of the testimony. And in the evening there was on the tent something like fire, till the morning. That is how it always was. The cloud covered it by day, and the look of fire by night. When the cloud lifted from the tent, then after that the Israelites moved on. And in the place where the cloud stayed, that is where the Israelites pitched their tents. At the command of the Lord the Israelites moved on, and at the command of the Lord they camped. All the days the cloud stayed on the tent they stayed in their tents. When the cloud stayed a long time on the tent, then the Israelites kept the charge of the Lord and did not moved on. And sometimes the cloud was a few days on the tent. At the command of the Lord they stayed in their tents, and at the command of the Lord they moved on. And sometimes the cloud was there from evening till morning, and when the cloud lifted in the morning, then they moved on. Whether by day or by night, when the cloud lifted, they moved on. And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not. And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed. And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed. Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed.
