One in ten to live in Jerusalem

And the leaders of the people settled in Jerusalem. And the rest of the people cast lots to bring one in ten to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the other nine stayed in the other towns. And the people blessed all the men who volunteered to live in Jerusalem. Now these are the leaders of the province who settled in Jerusalem. But in the towns of Judah everyone lived on his own property in his own town — Israel, the priests, the Levites, the temple servants and the descendants of Solomon's servants. And some of the people of Judah and the people of Benjamin settled in Jerusalem. Of the people of Judah: Athaiah son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mahalaleel, of the children of Perez; and Maaseiah son of Baruch, son of Colhozeh, son of Hazaiah, son of Adaiah, son of Joiarib, son of Zechariah, son of Shiloni. All the sons of Perez living in Jerusalem were four hundred and sixty-eight able men. And these are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Joed, son of Pedaiah, son of Kolaiah, son of Maaseiah, son of Ithiel, son of Jesaiah, and after him Gabbai and Sallai — nine hundred and twenty-eight. And Joel son of Zichri was their overseer, and Judah son of Senuah was second over the city. Of the priests: Jedaiah son of Joiarib, Jachin, Seraiah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, who was the ruler of the house of God, and their brothers who did the work of the house — eight hundred and twenty-two. And Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pelaliah, son of Amzi, son of Zechariah, son of Pashur, son of Malchiah, and his brothers, heads of families — two hundred and forty-two. And Amashai son of Azareel, son of Ahasai, son of Meshillemoth, son of Immer, and their brothers, mighty men of valour — a hundred and twenty-eight. And their overseer was Zabdiel, son of one of the great men. And of the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hashub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, son of Bunni, and Shabbethai and Jozabad, among the chiefs of the Levites, who had charge of the outside work of the house of God, and Mattaniah son of Micha, son of Zabdi, son of Asaph, who led the thanksgiving in prayer, and Bakbukiah, second among his brothers, and Abda son of Shammua, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun. All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred and eighty-four. And the gatekeepers — Akkub, Talmon and their brothers who kept watch at the gates — were a hundred and seventy-two. And the rest of Israel, and of the priests and the Levites, were in all the towns of Judah, each on his own inheritance. But the temple servants lived in Ophel, and Ziha and Gispa were over the temple servants. And the overseer of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers had charge of the work of the house of God.
