Now one day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, Let us go over to the other side of the lake. And they set out. But as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and the boat was filling with water, and they were in danger. And they came to him and woke him, saying, Master, master, we are going under. Then he got up and rebuked the wind and the raging water. And they stopped, and there was a calm. And he said to them, Where is your faith? And they were afraid, and wondered, saying to one another, What sort of man is this? Because he orders even the winds and the water, and they obey him.
Now on a certain day he went into a boat with his disciples. And he said to them: Let's go over to the other side of the lake. And they set out. But as they sailed, he fell asleep. And a storm of wind came down on the lake. And they were filled with water and were in danger. And they came to him and woke him: Boss, boss, we're going down. Then he got up and told the wind off, and the raging of the water. And they stopped, and there was a calm. And he said to them: Where's your faith? And being frightened they were shocked and said to each other: What kind of man is this? Because he orders even the winds and water, and they do what he says.

And he wore no clothes, and lived in no house but among the tombs. When he saw Jesus he cried out and fell down before him, and said with a loud voice, What have I got to do with you, Jesus, Son of God Most High? I beg you, don't torment me. Because he had ordered the unclean spirit to come out of the man. It had often seized him, and he had been kept bound with chains and shackles. And he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness. And Jesus asked him, saying, What is your name? And he said, Legion — because many demons had gone into him. And they begged him not to order them to go out into the abyss. Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding there on the hillside. And they begged him to let them go into them. And he let them. Then the demons went out of the man and into the pigs. And the herd rushed violently down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned. When those feeding them saw what had happened, they ran off and told it in the town and in the country. Then people went out to see what had happened. And they came to Jesus and found the man the demons had gone out of, sitting at the feet of Jesus, dressed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. And those who had seen it told them how the man who had been possessed by the demons was healed. Then the whole crowd from the country of the Gadarenes round about begged him to leave them, because they were gripped by great fear. And he got into the boat and went back again. Now the man the demons had gone out of begged to be with him. But Jesus sent him away, saying, Go back to your own house and tell what great things God has done for you. And he went his way and told through the whole town what great things Jesus had done for him.

When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again. Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

Jairus and the woman
And when Jesus came back, the people welcomed him gladly, because they were all waiting for him. And there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus' feet and begged him to come into his house, because he had one only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. But as he went, the people crowded round him. And a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years, and had spent everything she had on doctors, and couldn't be healed by any of them, came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. And straight away her bleeding stopped. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When everyone denied it, Peter and those with him said, Master, the crowd is pressing in on you and crushing you, and you say, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody touched me. Because I know that power has gone out of me. And when the woman saw she wasn't hidden, she came trembling, and fell down before him, and told him in front of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been healed straight away. And he said to her, Daughter, take heart. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace. But he said, Don't weep. She isn't dead, but asleep. And they laughed at him, knowing she was dead. And he put them all outside, and took her by the hand and called, saying, Girl, get up. And her spirit came back, and she got up straight away. And he told them to give her something to eat. And her parents were astonished. But he ordered them to tell nobody what had happened.

And straight away the flow of her blood stopped. And Jesus said: Who touched me? When everyone denied it, Peter and the ones with him said: Boss, the crowd press on you and push you, and you say: Who touched me? And Jesus said: Somebody has touched me. Because I know power has gone out of me. And when the woman saw she wasn't hidden, she came shaking and fell down in front of him and told him in front of all the people why she'd touched him, and how she was healed straight away. And he said to her: Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you whole. Go in peace. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
