The great catch
And as the people pressed in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret. And he saw two boats standing by the lake. But the fishermen had got out of them and were washing their nets. And he got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to push out a little from the shore. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. Now when he had finished speaking he said to Simon, Push out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch. And Simon answered him, Master, we have worked all night and taken nothing. But at your word I will let down the net. And when they had done it they caught such a great number of fish that their net began to break. And they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Get away from me, because I am a sinful man, Lord. Because he and everyone with him were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken. And so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Don't be afraid. From now on you will catch men. And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. The man with the skin disease
And when he was in a certain town, there was a man covered with leprosy. And when he saw Jesus he fell face down and begged him, saying, Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean. And he put out his hand and touched him, saying, I am willing. Be clean. And straight away the leprosy left him. And he ordered him to tell nobody. But go, he said, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, as a testimony to them. But all the more the news of him went about. And great crowds came together to hear him and to be healed by him of their illnesses. And he withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.

And plenty of people came together to hear and to be healed by him of their sicknesses. And he went off into the wilderness and prayed.

And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

Let down through the roof
And one day, as he was teaching, there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come out of every town of Galilee and Judaea, and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was there to heal them. And men brought a paralysed man on a mat, and looked for a way to bring him in and lay him in front of him. And when they couldn't find a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his mat, into the middle in front of Jesus. And when he saw their faith he said to him, Man, your sins are forgiven you. And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone? But when Jesus knew their thoughts he answered them, What are you reasoning in your hearts? Which is easier — to say, Your sins are forgiven you, or to say, Get up and walk? But so you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins — he said to the paralysed man, I say to you, get up, pick up your mat and go home. And straight away he got up in front of them and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things today.
And on a certain day, as he was teaching, there were Pharisees and teachers of the teaching sitting by, who'd come out of every town of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was there to heal them. And look — men brought in a bed a man who was paralysed. And they looked for a way to bring him in and to lay him in front of him. And when they couldn't find a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down through the tiles with his bed, into the middle in front of Jesus. And when he saw their faith, he said to him: Man, your sins are forgiven you. And the scribes and the Pharisees started to think: Who's this who speaks against God? Who can forgive sins but God alone? But when Jesus knew what they thought, he answered them: What do you think in your hearts? Which is easier, to say: Your sins are forgiven you — or to say: Get up and walk? But so you can know the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins — he said to the one who was paralysed: I say to you, get up and take up your bed and go to your house. And they were all amazed and gave glory to God, and were filled with fear: We've seen strange things today.

And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

Levi called
And after this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, Follow me. And he left everything, got up, and followed him. And Levi put on a great feast for him in his own house. And there was a large company of tax collectors and others sitting down with them. But their scribes and Pharisees grumbled against his disciples, saying, Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners? And Jesus answered them, It isn't the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I didn't come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

But their scribes and Pharisees grumbled at his disciples: Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners? And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me. And he left all, rose up, and followed him. But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? New wine
And they said to him, Why do John's disciples fast often and make prayers, and the Pharisees' disciples too, but yours eat and drink? And he said to them, Can you make the guests at a wedding fast while the groom is with them? But the days will come when the groom is taken away from them. Then they will fast, in those days. And he told them a parable as well: Nobody puts a piece from a new garment on an old one. If he does, he tears the new, and the piece from the new doesn't match the old. And nobody puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine will be spilled and the skins ruined. But new wine has to be put into new wineskins, and both are kept. And nobody who has drunk old wine wants new straight away. Because he says, The old is better.
And they said to him: Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and the same of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink? And he said to them: Can you make the children of the wedding party fast while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. And then they'll fast in those days. And he spoke a comparison to them too: Nobody puts a piece of a new garment on an old one. Or else the new tears, and the piece taken out of the new doesn't match the old. And nobody puts new wine into old wineskins. Or else the new wine will burst the skins and be spilt, and the skins will be wrecked. But new wine has to be put into new skins, and both are kept. And nobody having drunk old wine straight away wants new. Because he says: The old is better.
And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink? And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
