Forgiveness and faith
Then he said to the disciples, It is impossible that things causing men to stumble shouldn't come. But trouble is coming to the man they come through. It would be better for him to have a millstone hung round his neck and be thrown into the sea, than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. Watch yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. And if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turns to you again saying, I repent — you are to forgive him. And the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea — and it would obey you. But which of you, having a servant ploughing or looking after cattle, would say to him when he came in from the field, Come straight away and sit down to eat? Wouldn't he rather say to him, Get my supper ready, and put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. And afterwards you can eat and drink? Does he thank that servant because he did what he was told? I don't think so. It is the same with you. When you have done everything you were told to do, say, We are unprofitable servants. We have only done our duty.

And as he went to Jerusalem, he passed through Samaria and Galilee. And as he went into a certain village, ten men who were people with leprosy met him. They stood a long way off and lifted up their voices and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them he said to them, Go and show yourselves to the priests. And as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw he was healed, turned back and glorified God with a loud voice, and fell face down at his feet, giving him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answered, Weren't ten cleansed? So where are the nine? Is there nobody found who came back to give glory to God except this foreigner? And he said to him, Get up and go your way. Your faith has made you well.

The day of the Son of Man
And when the Pharisees demanded of him when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God doesn't come with things you can watch for. And they won't say, Look, here it is, or, There it is. Because look — the kingdom of God is within you. And he said to the disciples, The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you won't see it. And they will say to you, Look, here, or, Look, there. Don't go after them, and don't follow them. Because as the lightning flashes out of one part under heaven and shines to the other, that is how the Son of man will be in his day. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. And as it was in the days of Noe, so it will be in the days of the Son of man as well. They ate, they drank, they married and were given in marriage, right up to the day Noe went into the ark. And the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot. They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built. But on the same day Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and sulphur from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be like that on the day when the Son of man is revealed. On that day, the man on the roof, with his goods in the house — let him not come down to take them away. And the man in the field — let him not turn back either. Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it. And whoever loses his life will keep it.
