Clean and unclean animals
The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron: Speak to the Israelites: These are the animals you will eat among all the animals on the earth. Whatever has a split hoof, cut right through, and chews the cud among the animals — that's what you will eat. But you must not eat these, of those that chew the cud or have a split hoof: the camel, because it chews the cud but doesn't have a split hoof. It is unclean to you. The rock badger, because it chews the cud but doesn't have a split hoof. It is unclean to you. The hare, because it chews the cud but doesn't have a split hoof. It is unclean to you. The pig, because it has a split hoof cut right through, but doesn't chew the cud. It is unclean to you. You must not eat their flesh or touch their dead body. They're unclean to you. You'll eat these of everything in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas and in the rivers — those you will eat. And everything in the seas and in the rivers that doesn't have fins and scales, of everything that moves in the waters and of every living thing in the waters, will be disgusting to you. They'll be disgusting to you. You must not eat their flesh, and you will loathe their dead bodies. Whatever in the waters doesn't have fins or scales will be disgusting to you. And these you will loathe among the birds. They must not be eaten. They're disgusting: the eagle and the vulture and the black vulture, The kite and the falcon of any kind, Every raven of any kind, The ostrich and the nighthawk and the seagull and the hawk of any kind, The little owl and the cormorant and the great owl, The white owl and the pelican and the carrion vulture, The stork, the heron of any kind, and the hoopoe and the bat. All flying crawling things that go on all fours will be disgusting to you. But you can eat these of every flying crawling thing that goes on all fours, that have legs above their feet to leap with on the earth. You can eat these of them: the locust of any kind, and the bald locust of any kind, and the cricket of any kind, and the grasshopper of any kind. But all other flying crawling things that have four feet will be disgusting to you.
And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron: Speak to the people of Israel: These are the animals you'll eat among all the animals on the earth. Whatever has a split hoof, cut right through, and chews the cud among the animals — that's what you'll eat. But you won't eat these, of the ones that chew the cud or have a split hoof: the camel, because it chews the cud but doesn't have a split hoof. It's unclean to you. And the rock badger, because it chews the cud but doesn't have a split hoof. It's unclean to you. And the hare, because it chews the cud but doesn't have a split hoof. It's unclean to you. And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you. These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you. And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, And the vulture, and the kite after his kind; Every raven after his kind; And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl, And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle, And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you. Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind. But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

Uncleanness by touch
You will be made unclean by these. Whoever touches their dead body will be unclean till evening. And whoever carries any of their dead body will wash his clothes and be unclean till evening. The body of every animal that has a hoof but isn't split, or doesn't chew the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them will be unclean. And whatever goes on its paws among all kinds of animals that go on all fours — they're unclean to you. Whoever touches their body will be unclean till evening. The one who carries their body will wash his clothes and be unclean till evening. They're unclean to you. And these will be unclean to you among the crawling things that crawl on the earth: the weasel and the mouse and the tortoise of any kind, The gecko and the monitor lizard and the lizard and the skink and the chameleon. These are unclean to you among all that crawl. Whoever touches them when they're dead will be unclean till evening. And whatever any of them falls on when they're dead will be unclean — any vessel of wood or clothing or skin or sack, whatever vessel it is that any work is done with. It'll be put into water, and it will be unclean till evening. Then it will be clean. And every clay pot that any of them falls into — whatever's in it will be unclean, and you will break it. Any food that could be eaten that water comes on will be unclean. And any drink that could be drunk in any such vessel will be unclean. And anything their body falls on will be unclean. Whether it's an oven or cooking pots, they will be broken down. They're unclean, and they will be unclean to you. But a spring or a well where there is plenty of water will be clean. But whatever touches their body will be unclean. If any part of their body falls on any seed for sowing that's to be sown, it will be clean. But if any water is put on the seed and any part of their body falls on it, it will be unclean to you. If any animal you can eat dies, the one who touches its body will be unclean till evening. The one who eats its body will wash his clothes and be unclean till evening. And the one who carries its body will wash his clothes and be unclean till evening. And every crawling thing that crawls on the earth will be disgusting. It won't be eaten. Whatever goes on its belly and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has more feet among all crawling things that crawl on the earth — you must not eat them, because they're disgusting. You must not make yourselves disgusting with any crawling thing that crawls, and you must not make yourselves unclean with them, so you're made unclean by them. I am the Lord your God. So make yourselves holy, and you will be holy, because I'm holy. And you must not make yourselves unclean with any kind of crawling thing that crawls on the earth. I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. So you will be holy, because I'm holy. This is the teaching about the animals and the birds and every living thing that moves in the waters, and every thing that crawls on the earth — To put a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the animal that can be eaten and the animal that can't be eaten.

And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
