The true vine
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. Every branch in me that doesn't bear fruit he takes away. And every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, so it will bear more fruit. You are already clean through the word I have spoken to you. Stay in me, and I in you. Just as the branch can't bear fruit by itself unless it stays in the vine, neither can you unless you stay in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever stays in me, and I in him, bears much fruit. Because without me you can do nothing. If a man doesn't stay in me, he is thrown out like a branch and withers. And they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you stay in me, and my words stay in you, you may ask what you want, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified — that you bear much fruit. So you will be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Stay in my love. If you keep my commandments you will stay in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and stay in his love. I have told you these things so my joy may stay in you, and your joy may be full. This is my commandment: that you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do whatever I command you. From now on I don't call you servants, because a servant doesn't know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You didn't choose me. I chose you, and appointed you to go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should last — so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give you. These things I command you: that you love one another.
I'm the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. Every branch in me that doesn't bear fruit he takes away. And every branch that bears fruit he prunes, so it can bring out more fruit. Now you're clean through the word I've spoken to you. Stay in me, and I in you. The way the branch can't bear fruit of itself unless it stays in the vine, that's how you can't either unless you stay in me. I'm the vine, you're the branches. The one who stays in me and I in him, that one brings out plenty of fruit. Because without me you can do nothing. If a man doesn't stay in me, he's thrown out like a branch and is withered. And men gather them and throw them into the fire, and they're burnt. If you stay in me and my words stay in you, you'll ask what you want, and it'll be done for you. In this my Father is glorified, that you bring out plenty of fruit. So you'll be my disciples. The way the Father has loved me, that's how I've loved you. Stay in my love. If you keep my orders, you'll stay in my love, the way I've kept my Father's orders and stay in his love. I've spoken these things to you, so my joy can stay in you and so your joy can be full. This is my order: that you love each other, the way I've loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man gives his life for his mates. You're my mates if you do whatever I order you. From now on I don't call you servants. Because the servant doesn't know what his lord does. But I've called you mates. Because everything I've heard from my Father I've made known to you. You haven't chosen me, but I've chosen you and set you, so you can go and bring out fruit, and so your fruit can stay. So whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he can give it you. I order you these things: that you love each other.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. These things I command you, that ye love one another.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
I'm the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Greater love has no man than this, that a man gives his life for his mates.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.
You're my mates if you do whatever I order you.
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
From now on I don't call you servants, because a servant doesn't know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
From now on I don't call you servants. Because the servant doesn't know what his lord does. But I've called you mates. Because everything I've heard from my Father I've made known to you.

I order you these things: that you love each other.
These things I command you, that ye love one another.
The world will hate you
If the world hates you, you know it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you aren't of the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, that is why the world hates you. Remember the word I said to you: The servant isn't greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you too. If they have kept my word, they will keep yours too. But they will do all these things to you because of my name, since they don't know the one who sent me. If I hadn't come and spoken to them, they would have no sin. But now they have no cover for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father too. If I hadn't done among them the works nobody else did, they would have no sin. But now they have seen them, and have hated both me and my Father. But this happened so the word written in their law might be fulfilled: They hated me without a cause. But when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father — the Spirit of truth, who comes from the Father — he will bear witness of me. And you will bear witness too, because you have been with me from the beginning.
If the world hates you, you know it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you aren't of the world, but I've chosen you out of the world, that's why the world hates you. Remember the word I said to you: The servant isn't greater than his lord. If they've chased me, they'll chase you too. If they've kept my saying, they'll keep yours too. But they'll do all these things to you for my name's sake, because they don't know the one who sent me. If I hadn't come and spoken to them, they'd have no sin. But now they've got no cover for their sin. The one who hates me hates my Father too. But this comes about so the word can be carried out that's written in their teaching: They hated me for no reason. But when the Comforter has come, who I'll send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes out from the Father, he'll testify about me. And you'll bear witness too, because you've been with me from the start.
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
