At the start of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came from the LORD: This is what the LORD says: Stand in the court of the LORD's house and speak to all the cities of Judah that come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words I order you to tell them. But Urijah heard about it and was frightened, and he ran and got away to Egypt. And Jehoiakim the king sent men to Egypt — Elnathan son of Achbor and some men with him. And they brought Urijah out of Egypt and took him to Jehoiakim the king, who struck him down with the sword and threw his body into the graves of the common people. But the hand of Ahikam son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so he wasn't handed over to the people to be killed.
