The LORD alone will be exalted in that day. Because the LORD Almighty has a day in store for everything proud and lifted up, for everything set high — and it'll be brought down. For all the cedars of Lebanon, tall and lifted up, and all the oaks of Bashan. For all the high mountains and all the hills that stand up. For every tall tower and every fortified wall. For all the ships of Tarshish and all the fine vessels. Human pride will be brought down, and the haughtiness of men humbled. The LORD alone will be exalted in that day. And the idols will be gone completely. People will crawl into caves in the rocks and holes in the ground, away from the terror of the LORD and the splendour of his majesty, when he gets up to shake the earth. On that day people will throw away to the moles and the bats the silver idols and the gold idols they made for themselves to worship. They'll get into the cracks in the rocks and the gaps in the crags, away from the terror of the LORD and the splendour of his majesty, when he gets up to shake the earth.
