The word about Moab

The word about Moab. In a night Ar of Moab is destroyed and gone. In a night Kir of Moab is destroyed and gone. He has gone up to Bajith and to Dibon, to the worship shrines, to weep. Moab will howl over Nebo and Medeba. Every head will be bald, and every beard cut off. In the streets they wear coarse mourning cloth. On the rooftops and in the squares everyone wails, running down with tears. Heshbon and Elealeh cry out. Their voices carry as far as Jahaz. That's why the armed men of Moab cry out, and their hearts are shaking. My heart cries out for Moab. His fugitives will flee to Zoar, a heifer of three years old. They'll go up the ascent of Luhith weeping, and on the road to Horonaim they'll raise a cry of destruction. The waters of Nimrim are dried up, the grass is withered, the new growth has failed, and there's nothing green left. So whatever they've made and stored up they carry away over the gully of the willows. The cry has gone all around the borders of Moab; its howling reaches Eglaim, and its howling reaches Beerelim. The waters of Dimon are full of blood, and I'm bringing more on Dimon still — a lion for those who escape from Moab and for whoever's left in the land.

The word about Moab. In a night Ar of Moab is wrecked and gone. In a night Kir of Moab is wrecked and gone. They've gone up to the temple and to Dibon, to the high places, to weep. Moab wails over Nebo and over Medeba. Every head is shaved and every beard cut off. In the streets they wear sackcloth. On the rooftops and in the squares everyone wails, running down with tears. Heshbon and Elealeh cry out. Their voices carry as far as Jahaz. That's why the armed men of Moab cry out, and their hearts are shaking. My heart cries out for Moab. Her fugitives run as far as Zoar and Eglath Shelishiyah. They go up the road to Luhith weeping as they go, and on the road to Horonaim they raise the cry of destruction. The waters of Nimrim are dried up, the grass is withered, the new growth has failed, and there's nothing green left. So whatever they've made and stored up they carry away over the gully of the willows. The cry has gone right round the borders of Moab. Their wailing is at Eglaim and at Beer Elim. The waters of Dimon are full of blood, and I'm bringing more on Dimon still — a lion for those who escape from Moab and for whoever's left in the land.

The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off. In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping abundantly. And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous unto him. My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction. For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing. Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall they carry away to the brook of the willows. For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the howling thereof unto Beerelim. For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.
