And of the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Koz, and the sons of Barzillai, who had married a daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name. These looked for their family record among those registered by descent, and it wasn't found. So they were put out of the priesthood as unclean. And the Tirshatha, the governor, told them they were not to eat any of the most holy things until a priest stood up with Urim and Thummim.

All the temple servants and the sons of Solomon's servants were three hundred and ninety-two. And these were the ones who went up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Kerub, Addan and Immer. But they couldn't show their fathers' house and their offspring, whether they were of Israel: the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two. And of the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, the sons of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name. And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name: These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.
