The order of Cyrus
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, so the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia. He made a proclamation throughout his whole kingdom and put it in writing as well: This is what Cyrus king of Persia says. The Lord God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? May his God be with him. Let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel — he is the God — which is in Jerusalem. And wherever any of them are left living, let the men of that place help him with silver and gold, with goods and with livestock, on top of the freewill offering for the house of God in Jerusalem. Then the heads of the families of Judah and Benjamin got up, and the priests and the Levites, along with everyone whose spirit God had stirred, to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. And everyone around them supported them with vessels of silver and gold, goods, livestock and valuable things, besides everything that was willingly offered. And Cyrus the king brought out the vessels of the house of the Lord that Nebuchadnezzar had carried off from Jerusalem and put in the house of his own gods. Cyrus king of Persia had them brought out by Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah. And this is the count of them: thirty gold dishes, a thousand silver dishes, twenty-nine knives, thirty gold bowls, four hundred and ten silver bowls of a second sort, and a thousand other vessels. All the vessels of gold and silver came to five thousand four hundred. Sheshbazzar brought all of them up with the exiles who were brought up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, so the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah could be carried out, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia. And he had it called out through all his kingdom, and put it in writing too: This is what Cyrus king of Persia says. The Lord God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth. And he's ordered me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who's among you of all his people? His God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel. He's the God who's in Jerusalem. And whoever is left in any place where he stays, let the men of his place help him with silver and with gold and with goods and with animals, besides the free offering for the house of God at Jerusalem. Then the heads of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin got up, and the priests and the Levites, with everyone whose spirit God had stirred up to go up to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem. And everyone round them helped them with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods and with animals and with valuable things, besides everything that was given willingly. And King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the house of the Lord, that Nebuchadnezzar had brought out of Jerusalem and put in the house of his gods. And Cyrus king of Persia brought them out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and counted them out to Sheshbazzar, the leader of Judah. And this is the number of them: thirty dishes of gold, a thousand dishes of silver, twenty-nine knives, thirty bowls of gold, four hundred and ten bowls of silver of a second kind, and a thousand other vessels. All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand four hundred. Sheshbazzar brought all these up with the ones who came up from the captivity out of Babylon to Jerusalem.
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem. And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem. Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem. And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered. Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods; Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah. And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives, Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand. All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.
