A bare rock
And in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, the LORD spoke to me: Son of man, because Tyrus said about Jerusalem, Aha — she's broken, the gate of the peoples. Now she's turned to me, and I'll be filled up now she's a desolation — So this is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I'm against you, Tyrus, and I'll bring many nations up against you the way the sea brings its waves up. And they'll destroy the walls of Tyrus and pull down her towers. And I'll scrape her dust off her and make her a bare rock. She'll be a place for spreading nets in the middle of the sea, because I've spoken it, says the Lord GOD. And she'll be plunder for the nations. And her daughters in the field will be killed by the sword. And they'll know that I'm the LORD. Because this is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I'll bring Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon on Tyrus from the north, a king of kings, with horses and chariots and horsemen and a crowd, and many people. He'll kill your daughters in the field with the sword. And he'll set up a siege wall against you and throw up a ramp against you and lift the shield against you. And he'll set his battering rams against your walls, and he'll pull your towers down with his axes. His horses will be so many that their dust will cover you. Your walls will shake at the noise of the horsemen and the wheels and the chariots, when he comes into your gates the way men go into a city that's been broken open. He'll trample all your streets with the hooves of his horses. He'll kill your people with the sword, and your strong pillars will go down to the ground. And they'll take everything you've made and loot what you've traded for. And they'll pull down your walls and destroy your fine houses. And they'll lay your stones and your timber and your dust in the middle of the water. And I'll stop the noise of your songs, and the sound of your harps won't be heard any more. And I'll make you a bare rock. You'll be a place for spreading nets. You won't be built again, because I the LORD have spoken it, says the Lord GOD.

And they'll wreck the walls of Tyre and pull down her towers. Because this is what the Lord God says: Look, I'll bring Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon on Tyre from the north, a king of kings, with horses and chariots and horsemen and a crowd, and plenty of people. He'll kill your daughters in the field with the sword. And he'll set up a siege wall against you and throw up a ramp against you and lift the shield against you. And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up. And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock. It shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD: and it shall become a spoil to the nations. And her daughters which are in the field shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know that I am the LORD. For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people. He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field: and he shall make a fort against thee, and cast a mount against thee, and lift up the buckler against thee. And he shall set engines of war against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers. By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee: thy walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach. With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets: he shall slay thy people by the sword, and thy strong garrisons shall go down to the ground. And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise: and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses: and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the water. And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard. And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more: for I the LORD have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.

The princes of the sea
This is what the Lord GOD says to Tyrus: “Won't the isles shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded cry and slaughter happens within you? Then all the princes of the sea will come down off their thrones and lay their robes aside and take off their embroidered clothes. They'll dress themselves in shaking. They'll sit on the ground and shake every moment and be shocked at you. And they'll take up a lament for you and say to you: How you're destroyed, you who were lived in by seafaring men, the famous city that was strong in the sea, she and those living in her, who put the fear of them on everyone living there. Now the islands will shake on the day of your fall. Yes, the islands in the sea will be troubled at your going. Because this is what the Lord GOD says: When I make you a desolationed city, like the cities that aren't lived in, when I bring the deep up over you and the great waters cover you — Then I'll bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of long ago, and set you in the lowest parts of the earth, in the old wasted places, with those who go down to the pit — so you're not lived in. And I'll set glory in the land of the living. I'll make you a horror, and you won't be there any more. Though you're looked for, you'll never be found again, says the Lord GOD.
This is what the Lord God says to Tyre: Won't the islands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded cry out, when the killing is done in the middle of you? Then all the princes of the sea will come down off their thrones and lay their robes aside and take off their embroidered clothes. They'll dress themselves in shaking. They'll sit on the ground and shake every moment and be shocked at you. And they'll take up a lament for you and say to you: How you're wrecked, you who were lived in by seafaring men, the famous town that was strong in the sea, she and the ones living in her, who put the fear of them on everyone living there. Now the islands will shake on the day of your fall. Yes, the islands in the sea will be troubled at your going. Because this is what the Lord God says: When I make you a wrecked town, like the towns that aren't lived in, when I bring the deep up over you and the great waters cover you — then I'll bring you down with the ones who go down to the pit, to the people of long ago, and set you in the lowest parts of the earth, in the old wasted places, with the ones who go down to the pit — so you're not lived in. Thus saith the Lord GOD to Tyrus; Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee? Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at thee. And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited of seafaring men, the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, which cause their terror to be on all that haunt it! Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy departure. For thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee; When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living; I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord GOD.
