Stand on your feet
He said to me, “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you.” The spirit entered me when he spoke and set me on my feet, and I heard the one who spoke to me. He said, “Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me to this very day. They're hard-faced children with a stubborn heart. I'm sending you to them, and you'll say to them: This is what the Lord GOD says. Whether they listen or refuse — because they are a rebellious house — they will know that a prophet has been among them. And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words, even though briers and thorns are with you and you live among scorpions. Do not fear their words or be dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house. You will speak my words to them, whether they listen or refuse, because they are rebellious. But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I give you.” And I looked, and there was a hand stretched out to me, and there was a scroll of a book in it. He spread it before me. It was written on the front and back, and written in it were laments, mourning and misery.

And he said to me: Son of man, I'm sending you to the people of Israel, to a rebel nation that's rebelled against me. They and their fathers have stepped over the line against me right up to this very day. They're hard-faced children with a stubborn heart. I'm sending you to them, and you'll say to them: This is what the Lord God says. And whether they listen or don't listen — because they're a rebellious house — they'll know a prophet has been among them. And you, son of man, don't be frightened of them and don't be frightened of what they say, though briars and thorns are with you and you live among scorpions. Don't be frightened of what they say and don't fall apart at the look on their faces, because they're a rebellious house. And you'll speak my words to them, whether they listen or don't listen, because they're rebellious. But you, son of man, listen to what I'm telling you. Don't be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I'm giving you. And I looked, and there was a hand stretched out to me, and there was a scroll of a book in it. And he spread it out in front of me, and it was written on the front and the back. And there was writing on it of songs for the dead, and mourning, and trouble.

And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious. But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee. And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein; And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
