One more thing, brothers: pray for us, that the word of the Lord gets a clear run and is honoured, the way it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men, because not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful. He'll steady you and keep you safe from evil. And we're confident in the Lord about you: that you're doing what we told you, and you'll keep doing it. May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Work and eat
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: keep away from every brother who walks disorderly and not after the tradition he received from us. You know yourselves how you ought to follow our lead, because we did not behave disorderly among you. We didn't eat any man's bread for nothing. We worked hard, night and day, so we wouldn't be a burden on any of you. Not that we didn't have the right to. We did it to give you an example to follow. Even when we were with you we gave you this rule: if a man won't work, he doesn't eat. Because we hear there are some among you who walk disorderly, doing no work at all, but keeping busy in everyone else’s business. People like that we command and urge by our Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and eat their own bread. And you, brothers, don't get tired of doing good. If anyone won't take notice of what we say in this letter, mark that man and have nothing to do with him, so he feels the shame of it. But don't treat him as an enemy. Pull him up as a brother.
