We thank God for you
We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. So among God's churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you're putting up with.

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
So among God's churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you're putting up with.
So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
God will set it right
All this is evidence that God's judgement is right, and as a result you'll be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you're suffering. God is just: he'll pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He'll punish those who don't know God and don't obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They'll be punished with everlasting destruction, shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marvelled at among all those who have believed. And this includes you, because you believed our testimony to you. With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
God is just: he'll pay back trouble to those who trouble you
Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
He'll punish those who don't know God and don't obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
They'll be punished with everlasting destruction, shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marvelled at among all those who have believed. And this includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
