Psalms 97

The LORD reigns. Let the earth rejoice. Let the many islands be glad. Clouds and thick darkness are around him. Righteousness and judgment are where his throne sits. A fire goes before him and burns up his enemies all around. His lightning lit up the world. The earth saw it and shook.

The Lord reigns

The LORD reigns. Let the earth rejoice. Let the many islands be glad. Clouds and thick darkness are around him. Righteousness and judgment are where his throne sits. A fire goes before him and burns up his enemies all around. His lightning lit up the world. The earth saw it and shook. The hills melted like wax before the LORD, before the LORD of the whole earth. The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. Let everyone who serves carved images be ashamed, those who boast about idols. Bow down to him, all you gods. Zion heard it and was glad, and the women of Judah rejoiced because of your judgments, Lord. Because you, Lord, are high above all the earth. You're lifted far above all gods. You who love the LORD, hate evil. He preserves the souls of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Be glad in the LORD, you righteous, and thank him at the memory of his holiness.

The Lord reigns. Let the earth celebrate. Let the many islands be glad. Clouds and thick darkness are round him. Righteousness and judgment are where his throne sits. A fire goes in front of him and burns up the ones against him all round. His lightning lit up the world. The earth saw it and shook. The hills melted like wax in front of the Lord, in front of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens tell out his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. Let everyone who serves carved images be ashamed, the ones who boast about idols. Bow down to him, all you gods. Zion heard it and was glad, and the daughters of Judah celebrated because of your judgments, Lord. Because you, Lord, are high above all the earth. You're lifted far above all gods. You who love the Lord, hate evil. He keeps the souls of his faithful ones. He gets them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Be glad in the Lord, you righteous, and thank him at the memory of his holiness.

The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof. Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne. A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about. His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled. The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods. Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD. For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods. Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
