They sharpen their tongue
Hear my voice, God, when I complain. Keep my life safe from the fear of the enemy. Hide me from the secret plotting of evil men, from the racket of the evildoers — Who sharpen their tongue like a sword and aim bitter words like arrows, To shoot at the upright man from hiding. They shoot at him suddenly and aren't frightened. They make themselves strong in an evil thing. They talk about hiding traps and say: Who'll see them? They search out wrongdoing. They destroy a careful search. The inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. But God will shoot at them with an arrow. Suddenly they'll be wounded. So they'll make their own tongue fall on themselves. Everyone who sees them will flee away. Everyone will fear and declare the work of God, and they'll wisely consider what he has done. The righteous will be glad in the LORD and trust in him, and all the upright in heart will glory.
Hear my voice, God, when I complain. Keep my life safe from the fear of the enemy. Hide me from the secret plotting of evil men, from the racket of the workers of wrong — who sharpen their tongue like a sword and aim bitter words like arrows, to shoot at the whole man from hiding. They shoot at him suddenly and aren't frightened. They make themselves strong in an evil thing. They talk about hiding traps and say: Who'll see them? They search out wrongdoing. They finish off a careful search. The inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. But God will shoot at them with an arrow. Suddenly they'll be wounded. So their own tongue will bring them down. Everyone who sees them will run off. And everyone will be afraid and tell out what God has done, and they'll think about his work properly. The righteous will be glad in the Lord and take shelter in him, and all the upright in heart will boast.
Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away. And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
Hear my voice, God, when I complain. Keep my life safe from the fear of the enemy.
Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Hide me from the secret plotting of evil men, from the racket of the evildoers —
Hide me from the secret plotting of evil men, from the racket of the workers of wrong —
Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
Who sharpen their tongue like a sword and aim bitter words like arrows,
who sharpen their tongue like a sword and aim bitter words like arrows,
Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
To shoot at the upright man from hiding. They shoot at him suddenly and aren't frightened.
to shoot at the whole man from hiding. They shoot at him suddenly and aren't frightened.
That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
They make themselves strong in an evil thing. They talk about hiding traps and say: Who'll see them?
They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
They search out wrongdoing. They destroy a careful search. The inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
They search out wrongdoing. They finish off a careful search. The inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
But God will shoot at them with an arrow. Suddenly they'll be wounded.
But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
So they'll make their own tongue fall on themselves. Everyone who sees them will flee away.
So their own tongue will bring them down. Everyone who sees them will run off.
So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.
Everyone will fear and declare the work of God, and they'll wisely consider what he has done.
And everyone will be afraid and tell out what God has done, and they'll think about his work properly.
And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
The righteous will be glad in the LORD and trust in him, and all the upright in heart will glory.
The righteous will be glad in the Lord and take shelter in him, and all the upright in heart will boast.
The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
