My light and my salvation
The LORD is my light and my salvation — who should I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life — who should frighten me? When the wicked came against me to devour my flesh, my enemies and foes stumbled and fell. Even if an army camps against me, my heart won't fear. Even if war rises against me, I'll still be confident. One thing I've asked of the LORD, and that's what I'll seek: to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to look at the beauty of the LORD and enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he'll hide me in his pavilion. In the secret place of his tent he'll hide me; he'll set me high on a rock. Then my head will be lifted above the enemies around me. I'll offer sacrifices of joy in his tent; I'll sing praises to the LORD.
The Lord is my light and my salvation — who will I be frightened of? The Lord is the strength of my life — who will I be scared of? When evil men came at me to eat my flesh — the ones against me and my enemies — they stumbled and fell. Even if an army camps against me, my heart won't be frightened. Even if war breaks out against me, I'll still be sure of this. One thing I've asked from the Lord, and that's what I'll look for: to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to look at the beauty of the Lord and think it over in his temple. Because in the day of trouble he'll hide me in his shelter. He'll hide me in the secret of his tent. He'll set me up high on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up over the enemies round me. So I'll bring offerings in his tent with shouting. I'll sing and make music to the Lord.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
The LORD is my light and my salvation — who should I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life — who should frighten me?
The Lord is my light and my salvation — who will I be frightened of? The Lord is the strength of my life — who will I be scared of?
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me to devour my flesh, my enemies and foes stumbled and fell.
When evil men came at me to eat my flesh — the ones against me and my enemies — they stumbled and fell.
When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Even if an army camps against me, my heart won't fear. Even if war rises against me, I'll still be confident.

Wait for the Lord
Hear me, LORD, when I cry with my voice. Have mercy on me and answer me. When you said, 'Seek my face,' my heart answered, 'Your face, LORD, I will seek.' Don't hide your face from me. Don't turn your servant away in anger. You've been my help; don't leave me or abandon me, God of my salvation. Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will take me in. Teach me your way, LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies. Don't hand me over to the will of my enemies, because false witnesses have risen against me, breathing out violence. I would have fainted if I hadn't believed I'd see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes — wait on the LORD.
Hear my voice when I call, Lord. Be gracious to me and answer me. My heart said about you: Look for my face. Your face, Lord, is what I'll look for. Don't hide your face from me. Don't turn your servant away in anger. You've been my help. Don't leave me or walk out on me, God of my salvation. Even if my father and my mother leave me, the Lord will take me in. Teach me your way, Lord, and lead me on a level track because of the ones watching me. Don't hand me over to the soul of the ones against me, because false witnesses have got up against me, breathing out violence. I'd have gone under if I hadn't believed I'd see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart be brave. Wait, I say, for the Lord.
Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Hear me, LORD, when I cry with my voice. Have mercy on me and answer me.
Hear my voice when I call, Lord. Be gracious to me and answer me.
Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When you said, 'Seek my face,' my heart answered, 'Your face, LORD, I will seek.'
My heart said about you: Look for my face. Your face, Lord, is what I'll look for.
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Don't hide your face from me. Don't turn your servant away in anger. You've been my help; don't leave me or abandon me, God of my salvation.
Don't hide your face from me. Don't turn your servant away in anger. You've been my help. Don't leave me or walk out on me, God of my salvation.
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will take me in.
Even if my father and my mother leave me, the Lord will take me in.
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Teach me your way, LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.
Teach me your way, Lord, and lead me on a level track because of the ones watching me.
Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Don't hand me over to the will of my enemies, because false witnesses have risen against me, breathing out violence.
Don't hand me over to the soul of the ones against me, because false witnesses have got up against me, breathing out violence.
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
I would have fainted if I hadn't believed I'd see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
I'd have gone under if I hadn't believed I'd see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait on the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes — wait on the LORD.
Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart be brave. Wait, I say, for the Lord.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
