The Nazirite vow
The Lord spoke to Moses: Speak to the Israelites and say to them: When a man or a woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazarite, to set himself apart to the Lord — He will keep away from wine and strong drink, and will not drink vinegar of wine or vinegar of strong drink, and will not drink any liquor of grapes or eat fresh grapes or dried. All the days he's set apart he will not eat anything made of the grapevine, from the seeds to the skin. All the days of the vow of setting himself apart, no razor will come on his head. Till the days are finished that he sets himself apart to the Lord, he will be holy and let the locks of the hair of his head grow. All the days he sets himself apart to the Lord, he will not approach a dead body. He will not make himself unclean for his father or for his mother, for his brother or for his sister, when they die. Because the setting apart of his God is on his head. All the days he sets himself apart he's holy to the Lord. If any man dies very suddenly beside him and he's made his set-apart head unclean, then he will shave his head on the day of his cleansing. On the seventh day he will shave it. And on the eighth day he will bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the tent of meeting. The priest will offer one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, and make atonement for him because he sinned by the dead. He will make his head holy the same day. He will set apart to the Lord the days of his setting apart, and bring a male lamb a year old for a guilt offering. But the days before will be lost, because his setting apart was defiled. And this is the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his setting apart are finished. He will be brought to the door of the tent of meeting. He will offer his offering to the Lord — one male lamb a year old without defect for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb a year old without defect for a sin offering, and one ram without defect for peace offerings, And a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil, and their grain offering and their drink offerings. The priest will bring them before the Lord and offer his sin offering and his burnt offering. He will offer the ram as a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord, with the basket of unleavened bread. And the priest will offer his grain offering and his drink offering too. The Nazarite will shave his set-apart head at the door of the tent of meeting, and take the hair of his set-apart head and put it in the fire that is under the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest will take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket and one unleavened wafer, and put them on the hands of the Nazarite after his hair of setting apart is shaved. The priest will wave them as a wave offering before the Lord. This is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and the heave shoulder. And after that the Nazarite can drink wine. This is the law of the Nazarite who is vowed, and about his offering to the Lord for his setting apart, besides what he can afford. According to the vow he vowed, that is what he will do according to the law of his setting apart.
