The first offerings
And on the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. He said to Aaron: Take yourself a young calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, without defect, and offer them before the Lord. And speak to the Israelites: Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without defect, for a burnt offering, A bull and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the Lord, and a grain offering mixed with oil. Because today the Lord will show himself to you. They brought what Moses commanded before the tent of meeting. And the whole gathering came near and stood before the Lord. Moses said: This is the thing the Lord commanded you to do. And the glory of the Lord will show itself to you. Moses said to Aaron: Go to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. And offer the offering of the people and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded. So Aaron went to the altar and killed the calf of the sin offering that was for himself. The sons of Aaron brought the blood to him. And he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar. But the fat and the kidneys and the lobe of the liver of the sin offering he burnt on the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses. The flesh and the skin he burnt with fire outside the camp. He killed the burnt offering. And Aaron's sons handed him the blood, and he threw it around the altar. They handed him the burnt offering with its pieces and the head, and he burnt them on the altar. He washed the internal organs and the legs and burnt them on the burnt offering on the altar. He brought the people's offering and took the goat, the sin offering for the people, and killed it and offered it for sin, like the first one. He brought the burnt offering and offered it in the proper way. He brought the grain offering and took a handful of it and burnt it on the altar, besides the burnt offering of the morning. He killed the bull and the ram too, the sacrifice of peace offerings that was for the people. And Aaron's sons handed him the blood, and he threw it around the altar, The fat of the bull and of the ram, the tail and what covers the internal organs, and the kidneys and the lobe of the liver. They put the fat on the breasts, and he burnt the fat on the altar. Aaron waved the breasts and the right thigh as a wave offering before the Lord, as Moses commanded. Aaron lifted his hand towards the people and blessed them, and came down from offering the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings. Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting and came out and blessed the people. And the glory of the Lord showed itself to all the people. And fire came out from before the Lord and ate up the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell face down.
And on the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. And he said to Aaron: Take yourself a young calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, without fault, and offer them in front of the Lord. And speak to the people of Israel: Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without fault, for a burnt offering, and a bull and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice in front of the Lord, and a grain offering mixed with oil. Because today the Lord will show himself to you. And they brought what Moses ordered in front of the tent of meeting. And the whole gathering came near and stood in front of the Lord. And Moses said: This is the thing the Lord ordered you to do. And the glory of the Lord will show itself to you. And Moses said to Aaron: Go to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and cover over for yourself and for the people. And offer the offering of the people and cover over for them, the way the Lord ordered. So Aaron went to the altar and killed the calf of the sin offering that was for himself. And the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him. And he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar. But the fat and the kidneys and the covering above the liver of the sin offering he burnt on the altar, the way the Lord ordered Moses. And the flesh and the skin he burnt with fire outside the camp. And he killed the burnt offering. And Aaron's sons handed him the blood, and he threw it round on the altar. And they handed him the burnt offering with its pieces and the head, and he burnt them on the altar. And he washed the insides and the legs and burnt them on the burnt offering on the altar. And he brought the people's offering and took the goat, the sin offering for the people, and killed it and offered it for sin, like the first one. And he brought the burnt offering and offered it in the proper way. And he brought the grain offering and took a handful of it and burnt it on the altar, besides the burnt offering of the morning.
