The shoot from the stump
A rod will come out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch will grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him — the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. He'll be of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD. He won't judge by what his eyes see or reprove by what his ears hear. With righteousness he'll judge the poor, and with fairness reprove for the humble of the earth. He'll strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he'll kill the wicked. Righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his hips.
A shoot will come up out of the stump of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of the knowledge and the fear of the Lord. His delight will be in the fear of the Lord. He won't judge by what his eyes see or decide by what his ears hear. He'll judge the poor with righteousness and decide fairly for the humble of the earth. He'll strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he'll kill the wicked. Righteousness will be the belt round his waist and faithfulness the belt round his hips.
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
A rod will come out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch will grow out of his roots.
A shoot will come up out of the stump of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him — the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of the knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
He'll be of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD. He won't judge by what his eyes see or reprove by what his ears hear.
His delight will be in the fear of the Lord. He won't judge by what his eyes see or decide by what his ears hear.
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
With righteousness he'll judge the poor, and with fairness reprove for the humble of the earth. He'll strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he'll kill the wicked.
He'll judge the poor with righteousness and decide fairly for the humble of the earth. He'll strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he'll kill the wicked.
But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
Righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his hips.
Righteousness will be the belt round his waist and faithfulness the belt round his hips.
And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
The wolf and the lamb
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf, the young lion and the fattened beast will be together; a little child will lead them. The cow and the bear will feed together; their young ones will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. A nursing child will play by the hole of the asp, and a weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den. They won't hurt or destroy anywhere on my holy mountain, because the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fattened beast together — and a little child will lead them. The cow and the bear will graze together, and their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The nursing baby will play over the cobra's hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's nest. They'll do no harm and cause no ruin on all my holy mountain, because the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

The remnant gathered
On that day the root of Jesse will stand like a banner for the peoples. The nations will come looking for him, and his resting place will be glorious. In that day the Lord will set his hand again a second time to recover the survivors of his people who remain — from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath and the islands of the sea. He'll raise a banner for the nations and gather the outcasts of Israel, and bring together the scattered ones of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Ephraim's jealousy will go and Judah's enemies will be cut off. Ephraim won't be jealous of Judah, and Judah won't harass Ephraim. They'll fly on the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west and plunder the people of the east together. They'll lay their hand on Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will obey them. The LORD will dry up the tongue of the Egyptian sea, and wave his hand over the River with a scorching wind, and strike it into seven streams so people can cross in sandals. And there'll be a highway for the survivors of his people who are left from Assyria, the way there was for Israel on the day they came up out of Egypt.
On that day the root of Jesse will be standing as a banner for the peoples. The nations will come looking for him, and his resting place will be glorious. On that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to buy back the remnant of his people that's left — from Assyria and Lower Egypt and Upper Egypt, from Cush and Elam and Babylonia and Hamath and the islands of the sea. They'll swoop on the shoulder of Philistia to the west and plunder the people of the east together. They'll lay a hand on Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be under them. The Lord will dry up the tongue of the Egyptian sea, and wave his hand over the River with a scorching wind, and strike it into seven streams so people can cross in sandals. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
